The Senior Learning Experience Designer for the Paycom Client Learning team will be responsible for designing high quality learning content that will reshape the way people learn. Paycom Learning will create award-winning content that will increase learner satisfaction and drive business results. This creative, strategic, learning experience designer will work with other instructional designers, storytellers, content producers, and graphic artists to design and develop instructional content for the modern learner to drive greater client usage and adoption of the Paycom platform.

Performance Objectives

  • Know our client's organizations, industries, and how they best use learning to help them realize the Paycom LMS value. You must be able to facilitate conversations with Paycom clients to create solutions that drive measurable improvements for their organizations. You must be an adult learning expert who is creative, analytical, and customer-focused. At times, act as relationship manager for other Paycom HCM stakeholders, developing and maintaining positive and productive working relationships and reporting on metrics and outcomes.

  • Analyze and interpret client business needs, translate them into learning objectives. Support internal teams in identifying and implementing the most effective learning solution formats for client learning. You must be able to distinguish and apply trends that will add value for Paycom Learning clients.

  • Design and develop a mobile-first portfolio of engaging, yet instructionally sound learning content. Let go of conventions and create truly innovative experiences. Be a storyteller. Based on needs analysis, feedback, and usage metrics, you will be responsible for the design and development of learning content for Paycom Learning clients. Engaging content is essential in driving Paycom Learning product adoption and client usage. As a member of the Client Learning team, you will work closely with other Learning Experience Designers to create (but not limited to), engaging learning content, micro learning, interactive video-based learning, interactive eLearning, and podcasts.

  • Innovate, move quickly, and not be constrained by how things have been done before. Be creative, forward-thinking, and tech savvy. It is important that you have experience with different instructional design modalities, like SAM, ADDIE, and agile methods. You will be expected to bring new ideas to reality, quickly and within estimated project costs.

  • Serve as a resource and in-house expert on learning experience design. You must know the right development tools, determine production metrics, and set the highest standards for quality. You will contribute to and champion a future-state vision for Paycom Client Learning. You will leadregular brainstorming sessions for all of your projects. Invite other designers, developers and writers to throw around ideas, be creative and, have fun.

Successfully manage a diverse portfolio of projects. Have the ability to partner with stakeholders to translate requirements and work with Learning and HR technology to determine applicable solutions and scalability of future support needs. Partnering with technical and development teams - to ensure learning solutions are scalable. You must be able to assess interdependencies across multiple initiatives simultaneously. Be comfortable working on multiple projects in a fast-paced, high-energy environment. You must be willing to roll up your sleeves and do what it takes to get the job done while insisting on the highest standards and measuring the impact of the learning experiences.



  • Bachelor's degree in education or similar field is required

  • 4 - 5 years' experience with Learning Experience Design is required In addition to experience in instructional design, curriculum development, performance improvement.

  • 2+ years of project management experience

  • Experience in a corporate training environment working on instructional design assignments across multiple teams or groups.

  • Background in Visual Design, Video Production, copy writing is preferred.


  • Experience planning for and analyzing data driven learning experiences (e.g. using xAPI)

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy

  • Ability to work independently to achieve results

  • Ability to write and speak clearly, easily communicating complex ideas

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of eLearning development tools such as Captivate, Articulate Studio/Storyline, Camtasia, and the Adobe Creative Suite.

  • An eye for visual design and knack for creating great user experiences

  • Proven experience and understanding of Agile methodology, Design Thinking principles, or Instructional Application design
