Compensation
Compensation includes a base salary of $117,300.00 - $195,500.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.
Job Description
The Sr Lead Network Engineer position works independently identifying areas for improvement for current processes and procedures makes recommendations for improvement. Responsible for collaborating with other technical staff, consistently author's knowledge base articles and training materials. Works closely with the development team on automation of services and provides proactive solutions. This individual will serve as an escalation point for all issues requiring engineering assistance and will consistently demonstrate proficiency in resolving moderate to complex support problems.
This position requires working independently minimal management oversight. Duties include planning, coordination, and completion of maintenance activities by creating project plans and following change management procedures. On-call support is a requirement of this position.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides quality internal and external customer service surrounding the Company values
Service delivery technical leadership:
System or Network Administration
Enterprise application support
Support complex installation activities
Be a customer interface/advocate
Provide support for the organization's Sales Engineering team
Work directly with Support groups to act as a technical expert for escalation and help resolve problems
Work directly with development team on automating implementation tasks and services
Create and maintain working relationship with RapidScale and Cox project management teams
Provide backup on-call support for after-hours emergencies and critical outages when primary on-call resource is unavailable
Creating Lab environments for team members to learn new technologies and services
Continue to expand on existing knowledge and expertise with existing RapidScale products
Act as primary quality assurance (QA) resource for all implementations
Lead and operate within the context of an established strategic direction and vision
Enforce and adhere to all company and team standards
The lead engineer will be responsible for helping their team members with the technical aspects of their jobs. They may also explain new projects challenges to their team and troubleshoot any problems that occur.
The lead engineer will be expected to supervise the technical aspects of the work output completed by their team.
Educational & Skills Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 8 years' experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master's degree and 6years' experience; a Ph.D. and 3 years' experience in a related field; or 12 years' experience in a related field
6 or more years' experience working in WAN (Wide Area Network)
Certifications in CCNP, or Fortinet NSE required
Firewall experience with managing Fortigate, Cisco, and Meraki
FortiSwitch, FortiAP experience would be a plus
Able to handle multiple tasks, manage priorities, and always remain professional
Must have the ability to distinguish low impact from high impact problems with little direction
Able to understand complex solutions and relay effectively to customers
Must have a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
Must demonstrate personal motivation and enthusiasm
Must possess problem solving for complex problem resolution with the ability to identify and resolve issues quickly and effectively with little impact to the flow of operations
Ability to make decisions with strong processing skills
Previous leadership or mentoring experience
Previous customer interaction experience
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
Ability to prioritize and organize effectively
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to work both independently and with others
Ability to operate in a fast moving, team-oriented, collaborative environment with tight deadlines
