Kaeppel Consulting, LLC, is in immediate need of a Senior Java Developer for a project with our client in Austin, TX.
Our clients Information Resource Management Program (IT Division) seeks to fill a Technical Development Lead role to plan and coordinate continued modernization development activities for a complex casework system. The individual will coach and lead teams with approximately six-members that include mid-level and junior-level Java developers, a UX engineer, and technical functional/testing analysts.
The Lead will work closely with the IT Division Chief Technology Officer to plan software development projects that modernize existing Enterprise Java web applications following established standards and quality attributes. The Lead will also work closely with the Project Management Office and business analysts to prioritize assigned work and develop recommendations, options, and alternatives as required.
Lead design activities for existing and new components. Make recommendations to technology leadership.
Define the automation requirements in a priority order, including build, testing, and security from Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) perspective.
Define and develop high-level design documents.
Review low-level design documents.
Assess the Level of Effort for individual modules.
Track software development life cycle activity metrics across all disciplines, including Requirements, Coding, Unit testing, Integration Testing, Defects, Usability, and other established metrics.
8 years of expertise in Java development using JEE platforms.
8 years of expertise in Web Application Development.
8 years of experience in Oracle SQL & PL/SQL components.
6 years of experience in SOAP and Restful Web Services.
5 years of expertise in Spring Framework.
5 years of working knowledge of Test Automation (Selenium).
5 years of expertise in Technical Documentation including Design Documents, Standards, and Configuration Plans.
5 years of excellent communication skills verbally and in writing used when leading software development activities, presenting to leadership, and training less experienced developers.
4 years of experience in Hibernate ORM.
3 years of experience in Leading Software development teams.
3 years of working knowledge of Continuous Integration (Jenkins or Equivalent).
2 years of experience in Angular.
2 years of experience in Identity & Access Management, Single Sign-on, OAuth, JWT.
Self-starter capable of leading and mentoring less experienced developers.
