Sentara Health is seeking a Senior IT Specialty Analyst to join our IT Security Services team!

This position is 100% Remote

Job Description Summary:

Responsibilities:

Work closely with the BISO team to implement 405(d) HICP across our organization and provider community. This position serves

  • as a liaison between clinical and IT teams, ensuring clear communication and understanding of security protocols.

  • Identify potential cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and risks to the organization, making recommendations to mitigate these risks.

  • Analyze, and interpret data logs for unusual or suspicious activities and investigate such activities.

  • Develop and deliver visualizations and reporting for the cyber program.

  • Collaborate with IT teams to strengthen security systems and ensure the implementation of effective security measures.

  • Participate in the development and updating of information security policies and procedures in line with 405(d) HICP.

  • Support the IR team with security incidents and provide a thorough post-event analysis.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the latest cyber threats, technologies, regulations, standards, and practices in the healthcare industry.

Other duties as needed

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.

Proven experience as a Cyber Security Analyst or similar role in the healthcare industry.

Deep understanding of 405(d) HICP and its implementation.

Strong knowledge of data protection legislation and regulations.

Experience with computer and network security systems.

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CompTIA Security+ will be a plus.

The Cyber Security Analyst will report directly Deputy CISO and will be an integral part of the Sentara team, ensuring the highest level of cybersecurity practices are maintained. This role requires both strategic planning and hands-on work, making it a dynamic and critical component of our organization.
