Senior IT Program Manager

Job Description:


  • Project/Program Management of complex multi-function initiatives between Business and IT stakeholders, System Integrators and external vendors. Overall responsibility for the project/programs including scoping and requirements gathering, project plans, development and testing plans cutover plans, and post-implementation support.

  • Manages global relationships with senior and executive stakeholders, understand their vision/strategy and provide solutions to enable worldwide compliance and company growth.

  • Definition of strategy to achieve the sponsors' vision of an end-state transformation and drive interactive Quarterly Business Review with senior and executive stakeholder management to baseline strategic and operational progress/opportunities.

  • Manages project/program level financials including business impact and meets approved budgets for defined set of projects that comprise the assigned portfolio.

  • Provides reliable financial forecasts to Management and Identifies opportunities through collaboration to reduce the cost of assigned portfolio.

  • Ensure projects are delivered within expected and agreed to timeline and quality as agreed to with business stakeholders.

  • Routinely called upon to mediate difficult situations that have a significant business impact, drives consensus across the organization on difficult topics.

  • Ensure timely initiation of projects/programs with all relevant information to enable a successful outcome.

  • Define service levels collaboratively with service providers, monitor SLA and enforce adherence

  • Drive portfolio management to achieve optimized utilization and cost structure.

  • Education and Experience

  • Advanced University degree in Computer Science or related field

  • 10+ years in enterprise project/program management supporting business applications.

  • 8+ years of experience managing SAP implementation projects

  • Ability to manage the projects in a fast moving environment, relying on previous SAP implementation experience to make sounds decisions impacting the projects

  • Extensive functional and Technical expertise in one or more SAP modules ( FIOC, SD, MM )

  • Must have excellent understanding of SAP as whole not just one specific module and a good understanding of the process flow from a Business perspective

  • Solid experience in coordinating with SAP for updates/notes and ability to escalate to SAP and/or System Integrators to resolve critical project issues

  • Direct experience managing complex projects/programs in an outsourced model, supported by vendors spread worldwide

  • PMP Preferred

VIEW JOBS 12/6/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-03-06T00:00 The Senior Program Manager will be responsible for delivering programs and leading projects end-to-end within the highly visible Retail Systems and Hospitality portfolio. The Senior Program Manager of Retail Systems will collaborate with key business partners, IT teams and vendors to create a vision and strategy for developing, deploying and supporting retail solutions which are scalable, operational and maintainable. We are looking for a leader with strong drive for results, critical thinking capabilities, ability to work across teams and someone who has a passion for delivering value to our stores, cashiers and customers, while aligning with Whole Foods Market's strategic objectives. Responsibilities: * Understand program stakeholder goals and expectations to assess impact on the overall business objectives. * Establish and manage the program's delivery governance structure and processes. * Plan the overall the program delivery phases based on business and technical objectives. * Integrate all project work plans and clearly capture key milestones and dependencies. * Develop and/or review estimates and estimating assumptions for each of the teams' schedule, effort, and cost using best practices, and past experience. * Measure and monitor progress at clearly defined points in the process to ensure the project is delivered on time, within budget, and meets or exceeds expectations. * Balance scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risks. Make adjustments as needed. * Maintain consistency between the baseline scope and estimate by following an agreed and documented change control process. Attend the end-to-end change control review sessions. * Determine the project's approach, staffing, responsibilities and schedule. * Provide day-to-day management of leads within the program, including leads across Development, Quality Assurance, Performance Engineering, Change Enablement, Service Introduction, Deployment and Point of Sale (POS.) * Review, and be responsible for, the overall development and integration of requirements. * Manage relationships and coordinate work between different teams at different locations. Manage relationships with all suppliers and subcontractors. Monitor their progress and adherence to the contract. * Build and maintain relationships with IT teams within other programs, such as Point of Sale (POS) and hospitality. Work to identify dependencies between different large programs and manage cross-program resource allocations. * Assess program performance, risks, issues and impact on solution delivery commitments, business objectives, etc. * Assess options to address the risks and issues and improve the program performance. * Make governance decisions and identify action items. * Identify, communicate and mitigate/resolve program risks and issues. * Manage issue escalation and resolution. Basic Qualifications * At least 3+ years of leading Retail enterprise-level applications implementations. * At least 3+ years leading large programs in a matrixed environment. * Proven track record in leading design, development, testing and deployment of retail releases, leveraging a matrixed team within a large, complex and critical portfolio. This includes adherence to SLDC deliverables and change management. * Demonstrated strength to build and maintain strong business and IT relationships across teams. This includes ability to hold teams accountable and influence critical business outcomes across a complex organization. * Experience managing partnerships with vendors and leverage appropriate software delivery lifecycle models for work efforts. This also includes strong contract negotiation, adherence to scheduling, budgeting, managing Service-Level Agreements (SLA), and escalation of issues leading to prompt resolution. * Experience ensuring solutions enabled are enterprise level end-to-end solutions, with sustainable total cost of ownership as well as supportable and secure. * Must possess professional confidence and credibility with the presence and communication skills to represent IT- related concepts effectively across a diverse audience ranging from technical teams to senior business and technical leadership. * Exhibit the flexibility necessary to effectively manage change and thrive in an evolving organization. * Ability to balance work between immediate demands and long-term objectives. * Embrace Whole Foods Market's Values. * Know when, where and how to use processes appropriate for the initiative at hand. * Bring a breadth of business and technology experience. * Possess great problem solving and analytical skills. * Be resilient and curious: keep learning and growing.
