Position Summary:

The IT Tooling and Process Engineer for Airbus North America (USA, Canada and Mexico) is responsible for process design and the integration of infrastructure tooling in support of projects and operational activities. Tooling and Integration technology includes but is not limited to ServiceNow, Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager, Microsoft Operations Manager, Microsoft Workstation Update Server, SolarWinds, Nagios, and future IM tooling in the Airbus North America environment. Following Airbus corporate IM and Enterprise service standards, this position ensures that process are integrated in the tooling and aligning with architectural designs and standards of Airbus. This position covers process design and tooling integration activities within the sites including but not limited to Grand Prairie, Columbus, Dallas/Fort Worth, Herndon, Ashburn, Washington DC, Miami, Mobile, Wichita, Atlanta, Mexico City, Queretaro, Vancouver, Fort Erie and Mirabel offices.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work with Airbus SDMs to enhance Service and better align operations with day to day use of the tools.

  • Responsible for access control and security of the IT tools assigned

  • Works with Systems management SDM to identify updates and or changes required for the SCCM environment

  • Establish supplier relationships with existing and future suppliers to ensure consistency within the integrated tools.

  • Liaison with Tool suppliers for instance changes/upgrades, and patches.

  • Enhancements such as form or workflow editing associated with processes and service requests within the tools.

  • Responsible for maintaining and growing data held within the tools such as users, locations, configuration items, service catalog items.

  • Liaise with infrastructure staff to deploy event management/mid server configuration

  • Troubleshoots technical issues by confirming the validity of the problem, seeking known solutions, and compiling detailed documentation on issues as required by Support and Technical Operations.

  • Works with the service delivery managers to implement Hot Fixes and Upgrades as necessary.

  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.

  • Collaborates with the IM project team members and Service Delivery managers responsible for processes definition and service integration activities across projects and services within the North America Land Scape.

  • Work with project managers to drive activities aimed at meeting project outcomes for process integration and tooling updates.

  • UAT/Regression testing of any new or changed workflows

  • Manages the implementation of all integration activities for assigned projects.

  • Proactively supports the Project Managers throughout the project lifecycle for those projects assigned.

  • Designs and conducts Systems Integration Testing prior to launching solutions.

  • Develops and maintains project documentation to support technical delivery and integrations.

  • Provides post-implementation technical support for issues related to entry into service activities.

  • Understands and follows Airbus change management process.

  • Provide and/or Lead project work packages to deliver the necessary service delivery guides, knowledge base articles, and user documentation as required for sustainable entry into service.

  • Work with engineers and product managers across many of Airbus teams to identify and exploit opportunities for process integration.

  • Build and maintain product and service standards for capabilities that align with technology strategies of Airbus.

  • Assist in the development of requirements, design specifications, and security considerations for the field office physical architecture.

  • Close collaborate with infrastructure architecture and engineering teams to meet project and implementation schedule.

  • Liaise with IM Product and Services Managers in Europe to track, follow-up, and act as an integration point of contact for new services and integration activities lead from Europe.

Provide and/or Lead project work packages to deliver the necessary service delivery guides, knowledge base articles, and user documentation as required for sustainable entry into service.

  • Works with IM Infrastructure and Operations to identify funding needs to support projects in the IM Master Plan

  • Collaborates with divisional and group counterparts to understand device standards, usage, and provide input for annual budgeting.

  • Works with IM Infrastructure and Operations to identify and capture (operational and project) license cost elements in the IM budget.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with global Airbus IM support functions to develop and improve standards

  • Ensures compliance with Airbus IM standards, network security standards & evolving cyber security requirements

Qualified Experience / Skills / Training:

Education:

  • Degree in Information Technology or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Experience:

  • At least 7 years of experience in process development and IT Tool integrating in a Global Context

  • At least 5 years of operational support experience in an IM support environment

  • At least 5 years of experience working with and support ServiceNow and Integrated Tools

  • Understanding of Airbus IM standards, project and services methodologies and procedures is a plus

  • Knowledge of IM supplier landscape in North America is a plus

Licensure/Certifications:

  • ServiceNow Certified Application Developer

  • ITIL Foundations is highly desirable

Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities:

  • Knowledge in the areas of ITSM, ITIL, Knowledge Article development and KPI Reporting

  • Broad knowledge of data and infrastructure technologies such as storage, virtualization, and directory services

  • Knowledge of architecture frameworks and methods

  • Strong analytical skills, with strong problem-solving capability

  • Demonstrated professional and technical knowledge through participation at educational workshops; understanding of current professional publications; and evidence of established/robust personal networks

Communication Skills (Spoken, Written, Influencing, Proficiency in Other Languages):

  • Experience tracking project activity; resolving problems; publishing progress reports; recommending actions.

  • Experience preparing technical reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.

  • Strong communication (oral and written), interpersonal, and facilitation skills

  • Fluency in English is mandatory, German or French language skills are a plus

Technical Systems Proficiency:

  • Expert level knowledge of VDI and supporting technologies required for the delivery of virtual desktop services

  • Experience integrating workplace technologies including but not limited to Printing, Email, Collaboration tools, MDM, Wi-Fi, and Identity management

Travel Required: 10%
