We are looking for a talented, driven, Senior Investment Accountant to join our team to help drive and deliver our investment accounting functions. This position will help reconcile and prepare Statutory, GAAP, Reinsurance, and Tax financial reports. This position will also be involved in department automation and new business on-boarding projects.
Responsible for supporting the investment accounting and reporting requirements on a Statutory and US GAAP basis for Athene USA
Prepare the fixed income and cash Statutory schedules (D, DA, E) and related reporting.
Maintain Statutory and GAAP general ledger reconciliations
Produce investment reinsurance settlements
Post manual journal entries
Utilize PFI (investment system of record) and navigate Athene's ARCHIE (data reporting) system
Contribute to automation and continuous improvement projects
Produce various financial analysis of operating results, balance sheets, and other key performance indicators related to annual planning, quarterly forecasting, and analysis against actual results.
Support internal and external audit requests.
Maintain process documentation
Other projects and tasks as assigned
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance or an equivalent combination of education and experience
MBA and/or CPA preferred
5+ years of related accounting or financial analysis experience required
Understanding of different investment types and the ability to understand complex transactions
Knowledge of GAAP and Statutory financial accounting regulations preferred
Well developed communication skills (verbal and written)
Advanced Microsoft Excel experience required
PFI, Essbase, & Bloomberg experience preferred
