The New York City Department of Investigation (DOI) is one of the oldest law enforcement agencies in the country with a mission of combating municipal corruption. It serves the people of New York City by acting as an independent and nonpartisan watchdog for New York City government, City agencies, and City employees, vendors with City contracts, individuals and entities that receive City funds.

The candidate selected for this position will be responsible for examining and analyzing financial data and reports, conducting financial and programmatic reviews and audits, conducting interviews, conducting reviews of subpoenaed records, researching to develop investigative leads, preparing reports, and testifying at hearings and court proceedings. The candidate will also be required to work with other prosecutorial agencies and support different squads within DOI. We are seeking experienced professionals with a minimum of two years of Investigative Audit experience.

The audit team at DOI is a fast-paced, team-oriented unit that requires self-motivated and driven individuals who are constantly striving to do more. The ideal candidate will be expected to autonomously develop investigative audit steps for a wide array of cases, demonstrating their ability to work independently and make critical decisions.

Additionally, they will be expected to assist in providing guidance to more junior auditors within the unit. Strong written, analytical and oral communication skills are a must.
