Position Overview:

Reporting to the Head of Distribution Operations Americas, as an Inventory Manager in our Distribution Centers and Consignment 3PL Locations, your primary responsibility is to ensure the accuracy and integrity of inventory within the facility. You will be responsible for implementing and managing processes and procedures to minimize discrepancies, improve inventory control, and optimize operational efficiency. Your role will involve coordinating with various teams, including warehouse staff, inventory control personnel, and cross-functional departments to achieve inventory accuracy targets.

Let's talk about Responsibilities

Inventory Management:

  • Develop, implement and maintain inventory control policies, procedures, and best practices to maintain accurate inventory levels.

  • Monitor and analyze inventory data, identify discrepancies, and investigate root causes to resolve inventory inaccuracies. Meet regulatory agency & SOX requirements.

  • Implement and maintain inventory cycle counting programs to ensure ongoing accuracy and minimize disruptions to operations.

  • Coordinate with manufacturing, quality, technical services, receiving, and shipping teams to ensure proper inventory flow and timely reconciliation.

Systems and Technology:

  • Utilize inventory management software systems and ERP (e.g., Warehouse Management Systems) to track, monitor, and analyze inventory accuracy.

  • Collaborate with the IT team to optimize system functionality, troubleshoot issues, and implement enhancements to improve inventory control processes.

  • Ensure the integrity of inventory data by overseeing regular system audits and reconciliations.

Process Improvement:

  • Continuously review and assess existing inventory control processes to identify areas for improvement.

  • Implement standardized operating procedures and work instructions to enhance inventory accuracy and efficiency.

  • Recommend and implement technological solutions, such as automation or RFID, to streamline inventory control processes.

Team Coordination and Training:

  • Provide leadership and guidance to the inventory control team, ensuring they are trained on inventory management processes and best practices.

  • Foster a collaborative environment, promoting effective communication and teamwork across different departments involved in inventory control.

  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback, and identify training needs to develop a skilled and motivated team.

Reporting and Analysis:

  • Prepare regular reports and key performance indicators (KPIs) related to inventory accuracy, stock levels, and operational metrics.

  • Analyze inventory data to identify trends, patterns, and areas of improvement, and provide actionable recommendations to management.

  • Communicate inventory-related information to stakeholders, including senior management, to facilitate decision-making and strategic planning.

  • Understand the potential impacts that inventory accuracy and integrity can have on the business end-to end supply chain.

  • Keen financial acumen and understanding of how inventory control plays a part.

Let's talk about Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, engineering, logistics, business administration, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., APICS, Lean Six Sigma) are a plus. Bachelors degree in engineering is preferred.

  • 7+ years of job experience in supply chain strategy/modeling including inventory management.

  • 5+ years of supervisory experience

  • Proven experience in inventory management and control within a distribution center or warehouse environment.

  • Strong knowledge of inventory management systems and proficiency in using relevant software tools (e.g., Warehouse Management Systems, Data Bases, Tableau, Power BI).

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.

  • Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively coordinate with cross-functional teams.

  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
