Job Purpose

The Senior Inventory Control Analyst is responsible for implementing and supervising the Humboldt inventory cycle counting program. The objective of this position is to identify causes of inventory errors and help develop and implement corrective actions that will correct conditions causing errors.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Run an ABC analysis

  • Define a cycle count for the organization

  • Define cycle count classes

  • Define cycle count items

  • Automatically schedule item counts using ABC count frequencies

  • Manually schedule item counts

  • Generate daily, weekly, or period count requests based on schedule

  • Physically count Parts and enter counts

  • Approve, reject or request recounts based on analysis

  • Month report generation that reflects $ accuracy, location accuracy.

  • Define causes of inventory errors

  • Implement Corrective actions

  • Maintain records that will meet third party audit requirements

  • Complete other tasks as assigned by the Supervisor

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • APICS certification or equivalent work experience preferred

  • 2+ years of materials/logistics experience preferred

  • ERP experience is beneficial

  • Good working knowledge of material flow and inventory control

  • Knowledge of concepts and application of materials requirement inventory planning

  • General understanding of manufacturing activities and shop floor control

  • Understanding of systems functions and transactions

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Must be proactive, detail oriented and have excellent organization and planning skills

  • Must have the discipline to adhere to procedures, meet deadlines and the ability to work without close supervision

  • Ability to multi-task and react quickly to customer changes

  • Must have excellent computer skills and be proficient in Excel and Email applications

  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and must be capable of professionally interacting with an international customer base.

  • Must understand the fundamentals of MRP and the basics of capacity planning

  • Committed to tasks and skilled at identifying and solving a variety of problems of broad scope and complexity with little to no supervision

  • Must be able to work flexible hours

  • Must be willing and able to work weekend overtime when necessary

  • Must demonstrate a sense of urgency
