JOB SUMMARY:

Manages order execution rules for material selection which ensures accurate assignment of customer promise dates. Oversees inventory flow to our facilities', ensuring our ability to execute inventory allocation on time while minimizing our inventory investment and maximizing overall customer service. Responsible for conducting the monthly cover and parts product life cycle meeting.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborates with Sales and Merchandising to identify, review and develop plants to promote and sell discontinued and aged cover inventory.

  • Coordinates financial impacts of inventory adjustments with accounting team

  • Maintains and communicates cover availability for all hot buy programs.

  • Manages distribution processes through alignment of cover inventory between distribution centers and plants along with managing communication of those movements to all stakeholders.

  • Troubleshoots receipt transaction errors and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure timely resolution.

  • Diagnoses and resolves daily issues regarding stock requirements, inventory discrepancies, etc.

  • Manages cover conversion tables to ensure accurate cover assignment to incoming orders.

  • Prepares and distributes weekly inventory reports, providing insight into key inventory metrics.

  • Maintains and validates business data and perform ad-hoc data analysis.

  • Supports supply chain initiatives with data analysis and reporting.

  • Reviews reasons for excess, slow moving and obsolete inventory and put mitigation in place to improve inventory quality.

  • Other duties as assigned.

SCOPE & IMPACT:

This position helps to assure that discontinued and aged inventory is identified in a timely manner, promoted and sold. This position oversees sales order fulfillment accuracy in E1 and manages any stock movements, flex table, and adjustments to the exceptions table to ensure we are meeting the ETS commitments provided to our customers. The results driven by this position impact our ability to provide accurate ETS dates to customers and ensures original promise dates are not compromised due to material availability.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain or Business Management, with 2-4 years of relevant work experience or equivalent.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • APICS Certification

  • Strong analytical, quantitative, data management, and problem solving skills

  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel. Business Objects, MS Access, and JD Edwards/Oracle experience a plus.

  • A high degree of customer service is required for this position.

This position will sit in Monroe, MI and will contribute to and responsible for the optimization of the transport flows and costs associated with Tenneco (North American inbound, outbound and expedited transport providers). The Logistics Analyst also has responsibility for service and performance levels provided by the transportation supply base. RESPONSIBILITIES: * Performs analytical comparisons or evaluations of business-critical projects; gathers, analyzes and benchmarks historical, current and proposed transportation trends for management. * Collects, analyzes and issues proposed transportation rate and service proposal comparisons. * Lead for operational implementations of all modes, ocean, FTL, LTL, parcel, air and intermodal * Lead corporate transportation resource for internal customers (MFG plants and DC's) * Partners with internal and external operating units such as finance, commodity buyers, MIS, internal and external resources in supporting the development of logistics best practices * Maintains databases and reports for the logistics department, including: key performance indicators (KPIs), freight rate calculator, open orders, various freight invoice audits, transportation rate analyses and shipment validations. * Provides project management support for logistics, including any custom applications * Oversees freight rate data files, including creating and maintaining rate databases and spreadsheets * Provides interactive communication with distribution center, manufacturing plants, finance, purchasing and outside service providers, including vendors, and other support resources Required Experience EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree preferred SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: * Strong PC skills; database manipulation and query; proficiency in MS Office. * General understanding of SAP. * Strong negotiation skills. * Self-motivated with the ability to work independently. * Travel required – 15-20%.
