The Senior Auditor will be responsible for assisting with the general oversight of internal audit functions for the corporation. The Senior Auditor will participate in ensuring that the annual audit plan is achieved by performing the required testing and review of business controls and operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plan and perform operational, financial, or IT internal audits under the direction and supervision of the Vice President

  • Develop audit programs and testing procedures relevant to risk and test objectives

  • Identify and communicate issues raised, offering recommended solutions relevant to business and risk

  • Prepare formal audit reports of audit activities

  • Assist in supervising staff auditors assigned to engagements, providing guidance and review of deliverables

  • Provide assistance to the Vice President in Sarbanes Oxley compliance work

  • Assist Vice President with annual planning

  • Assist in performance of annual Risk Assessment

  • Ensure adherence at all times to all applicable department and professional standards

  • Travel required (up to 35%)

  • Perform other duties/responsibilities as requested by management

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (Accounting) from an accredited institution required

  • Five to seven years prior internal or external audit experience required

  • Audit experience for a public company is preferred

  • Professional designation such as CPA, CIA or CISA required

  • General knowledge of auditing standards and SOX 404 is required

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, & Word required

  • Excellent organization, communication and interpersonal skills required

  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills required

  • Must be able to work independently

  • Must be able to occasionally lift up to 10 lbs

  • The work environment is a quiet, professional office. Additionally, the department must adhere to strict deadlines. As a result, overtime is required during certain critical times. And, flexibility is important, as the need to work overtime is not always anticipated in advance.

Essential Functions: * Performs diversified accounting and auditing assignments under the direction of supervisor and manager * Examine IT controls, evaluate the design and operational effectiveness * Assess client business processes, information systems and internal controls * Develop audit plan and procedures based on understanding of client control environments * Manage revolving workload of multiple audits * Ability to develop and maintain effective client relationships and understand the clients business and project requirements * Identify and effectively communicate audit results and recommendations * Produce audit report within expected timeframes to meet internal and external commitments * Develop expertise in technical, regulatory and industry requirements for client base Requirements: * A minimum of 3 years IT audit experience in the financial (Banking or Insurance) industry * Working knowledge of IT systems and security * Experience being directly involved with testing of the FFIEC handbook externally from a financial institution; or, completed risk assessments or other IT audit procedures on an internal audit team. * SOX experience is a plus. * CISSP, CISA preferred but not required. * Be self-motivated and have the ability to meet work schedules in a "work from home" environment * Must be able to travel up to 30-35%.
