About the Role

The Senior Internal Auditor performs or assist in the planning and execution of compliance, operational and financial audits

Position Responsibilities

  • Determining the extent of compliance testing to be performed and the approach to be taken, based on the adequacy of controls.
  • Advising and instructing Internal audit staff assigned to audit projects and reviewing their work for sufficiency of scope for accuracy.
  • Making oral and/or written presentations to management during and at the conclusion of the audit, discussing deficiencies and making recommendations for corrective action to improve operations and reduce costs.
  • Audits records of Departments and interviews workers to ensure recording of transactions and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Inspects accounting systems to determine their efficiency and protective value.
  • Assesses the proper accountability of assets by conducting inventories.
  • Reviews records pertaining to staff and material assets, such as equipment and buildings, to determine degree to which they are utilized.

Essential Functions

  • Must have manual dexterity to allow for inputting data into computer software and be capable of viewing computer monitors for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to read fine print areas of invoices and contracts.
  • Must be able lift/push/pull up to 25 lbs
  • Must be able to sit at work station for extended periods of time
  • Exposure to casino related environmental factors, including but not limited to, secondhand smoke, excessive noise and stress related to high pressure and fast paced environment

Requirements

  • B.S./B.A. degree in accounting, finance or business from a four-year college or university
  • CPA, CIA or MBA (or active candidate) desirable
  • Minimum of three years prior auditing experience in accounting and/or internal auditing and/or
  • Knowledge of New Jersey C.C.C. rules and regulations of internal controls preferred
  • Ability to speak and comprehend English
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, strong judgment and analytical ability, as well as the ability to direct and manage people required
  • Hotel or gaming industry experience desirable
