This Senior Internal Auditor (hybrid work environment with 25-50% travel amongst branches) will be responsible for conducting comprehensive audits at various locations to ensure compliance with company policies and processes, regulatory requirements, and industry standards. Your role will involve assessing operational processes, conduct thorough audits of escrow transactions and funds, review file documentation, and adherence to best practices to mitigate risk and maintain the integrity of title insurance transactions. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, a comprehensive understanding of escrow procedures, and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders.

THIS POSITION CAN SIT ANYWHERE IN THE COUNTRY WHERE LENNAR TITLE HAS A BRANCH IN CLOSE PROXIMITY. 25-50% TRAVEL AMONGST BRANCH LOCATIONS IS REQUIRED.

Your Responsibilities on the Team

  • Experience in a real estate, title insurance, or legal/compliance setting is required.

  • Conduct Internal Audits: Travel to designated locations, as needed, to conduct audits of title insurance and escrow operations.

  • Perform Escrow Account Audits: Conduct detailed audits of escrow accounts, including reviewing transactional data, reconciling balances, review escrow transactions, including deposits.

disbursements, and fund transfers, to ensure accuracy, completeness, and verifying compliance with contractual obligations and regulatory requirements

  • Reconcile Escrow Balances: Reconcile escrow account balances with bank statements, accounting records, and transactional data to identify discrepancies, errors, or irregularities.

  • Evaluate Processes: Assess operational processes and procedures to ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory guidelines, and industry standards.

  • Review Documentation: Review documentation related to title insurance transactions, including title searches, title commitments, title and escrow rates, and closing documents, to verify accuracy

and completeness.

  • Verify Compliance: Verify compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, including state specific regulations governing title insurance practices.

  • Identify Risks: Identify potential risks, errors, or discrepancies in title insurance transactions and operational processes, and recommend corrective actions to mitigate risk and improve efficiency.

  • Document Findings: Document audit findings, including observations, recommendations, and corrective actions, in detailed audit reports.

  • Communicate with Stakeholders: Communicate audit findings and recommendations to stakeholders, including management, underwriters, agents, and escrow officers, and provide guidance on implementing corrective actions.

  • Provide Training and Support: Offer training and support to employees and stakeholders on compliance requirements, best practices, and procedural improvements identified during audits.

  • Collaborate with Compliance Team: Collaborate with the compliance team to ensure alignment with company policies, regulatory changes, and industry standards, and assist in developing and

implementing audit protocols and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or a related field.

  • Previous experience in onsite auditing, risk management, escrow operations and title insurance operations.

  • Strong knowledge of escrow procedures, title insurance regulations and industry practices.

  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally withstakeholders at all levels.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

  • Ability to travel, prioritize tasks effectively, manage multiple deadlines and work independently in

various locations.

Physical & Office/Site Presence Requirements:

Regular, in-person attendance at Company communities/job sites and offices during regular work hours is an essential function of this job. Requires the ability to work more than eight hours per day in the confined quarters of a construction trailer, the ability to operate a motor vehicle, read plans, climb stairs and ladders, bend, stoop, reach, lift, move and/or carry equipment which may be in excess of 50 pounds. Job may require occasional operation of construction equipment. Finger dexterity may be required to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
