Job Summary

  • Responsible for initiating and developing construction document drawings through completion for assigned projects in conformance with the requirements, applicable codes, and design criteria established by the project's discipline leaders.

  • Under direct supervision, may complete design assignments of limited to moderate complexity.

  • Limited familiarity with codes, permits, and software applications related to the discipline.

  • Introduced to the process of preparing designs and drawings using project specifications and discipline-associated written and verbal instructions in accordance with established design practices, standards and procedures.

  • Basic to intermediate understanding of the purpose and use of vendor documents.

Minimum Requirements

  • Professional Bachelor's or Master's degree in Interior Design or Architecture (accredited by the National Architectural Accrediting Board)

  • 5-8+ years in working with licensed architects to deliver interior design projects

  • Experience working on themed entertainment, sports, or hospitality projects

  • AutoCAD Proficient

  • Revit Proficient

Preferred Qualifications

  • Registered Interior Designer, State of Florida

  • Skilled in 3D Modeling Software

  • Experience with Adobe Suites

Position Summary: As an interior design expert for Justice and Civic, you will be responsible for collaborating with team members and design leaders throughout all phases of design and documentation. You will be challenged with a variety of project types ranging in size and complexity. You will be expected to assist in project pursuits, interviews and leading the design team for those projects. You will lead a team in developing space plans, assisting in construction documents, three dimensional concepts, materials palettes as well as assisting in furniture selection and specifications. Additionally, you will work collaboratively with clients, contractors, vendors and other DLR Group team members to outline and prepare specifications. The successful candidate will: * Have strong client communication, presentation and time management skills. * Possess excellent written and oral communication skills. * Have a positive attitude and is self-motivated. * Be willing to mentor and grow younger staff. * Have current knowledge of materials, finishes, furnishings and equipment. * Have the ability to work both independently and effectively in a cross-disciplinary team atmosphere and across multiple offices. * Have strong creative design and drawing skills, graphic and oral design presentation skills, strong space planning and three-dimensional conceptual design thinking, experience in the aesthetic and functional aspects of materials and furnishings selection and specification, and 3D design/modeling ability. * Participate in construction documentation. Required Qualifications: * Previous interior design experience working on civic, justice, federal, GSA and/or detention facility projects. * Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or equivalent. * CID, NCIDQ or equivalent accreditation. * Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office suite. * Willingness to travel to support project tasks and project pursuits. * 15 + years of experience in Justice or Civic project types.
