Collins Aerospace is looking for a Senior Integration Systems Engineer.

This is a mid-career engineering position for an individual with educational and professional experience in the production, fielding, and sustainment of medium sized, mission critical systems. Duties include maintain and perform system level tests and report test results; perform system installation, integration, and certification in the contractor's lab and on the customer's platform; perform and support investigation and resolution of system issues. Ability to perform system and subsystem requirements management in support of system enhancements and upgrades is desired. Responsibilities include being the subject matter expert (SME) regarding the installation, operation, and maintenance of the system; verify system functionality and performance comply with customer requirements; support and perform root cause analysis for reported system anomalies; support and perform trade studies addressing obsolescence; lead technical discussion and communication with the customer, technical leaders, and engineering team members.

This position is eligible for relocation assistance.

Qualifications/Experience Needed:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience

  • MUST BE WILLING TO TRAVEL: CONUS travel to US Naval bases to work on various ship platforms including spending time at sea. Candidates must not be hindered by motion sickness and must be able to pass a maritime physical. Travel frequency once every month or two for a duration of 5 to 7 days

  • Basic understanding of Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test activities

  • Intermediate level knowledge of: IP/Ethernet design and implementation; RF datalink design and implementations; GPS receiver and data processing; electrical and electronic circuits

  • Experience working in laboratory environment including use of general test equipment such as DVM, oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer and applications running on general purpose computers hosting either Windows or Linux operating systems

  • Experience with data collection and analysis

  • Experience troubleshooting anomalies with analog, digital, and RF equipment including power supplies, computers, routers/switches, fault detection circuitry, GPS receivers, and UHF receiving / transmitting equipment suites

  • Knowledge of hardware devices (computers, routers/switches, GPS sensors, motion sensors, radios, time servers, terminal servers, and power supplies) and how they operate

  • Ability to comprehend electronic schematic drawings and documentation

  • Good oral and written communication skills required including the preparation and presentation of technical reports

  • Familiarity with operating systems such as Linux, VxWorks, and Windows

  • Proficient in the use of Wireshark, MS Excel, MS Project, MS Word

  • Must be detail oriented

  • Active DoD Secret (or higher) Clearance

Security Clearance:

  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

  • Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using DOORS, Jira, Bitbucket, and Git

  • Familiarity with Java, C, Simulink, Linux shells, Bash, XML, Perl, HTTPS

Employee Referral Eligible

The salary range for this role is 85,000 USD - 179,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
