Job Purpose

Create, arrange, organize, coordinate and deliver a training program to educate all employees, regardless of function or level, on the nuances of the Transmission Business and the skills required to perform their jobs.

Key Accountabilities

  • Assist in the development and implementation of a technical training program for electric and civil engineers in Electric Process and Engineering

  • Create in Learning Link plans of study for each engineer

  • Assist in the development of objectives and materials for technical training courses and delivery of the courses

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited engineering school

  • At least 3 years of experience as an engineer at a US utility

  • Skilled within their technical field.

  • Experience as a trainer, education in a relevant field of education or training, and/or teaching certification desirable

  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders including Substation Engineering, Protection Engineering, Transmission Planning and Asset Management, Regulatory, Transmission Line Engineering, Transmission Commercial Services, Human Resources and other functions within the Transmission Business.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and or direct development of course content including appropriate assessments necessary for training courses.

  • Demonstrated ability in instructor led delivery of wide range of training materials to small and large diverse audiences.

  • Effective communication skills - verbal/written and presentation - capable of tailoring communications to meet stakeholder\customer needs

  • Demonstrates the ability to build an informed, independent opinion of training needs, problems and/or opportunities and develop appropriate solutions.

  • Knowledge of relevant industry practices, standards and legislation

  • Valid driver's license required with a safe driving history that meets National Grid's Safe Driver policy

Key Responsibilities Include: * Characterization of monoclonal antibodies, antibody-drug-conjugates, novel multi-specifics and fusion proteins. * Employ modern LC-MS instruments to understand structural information insight of therapeutic biologic molecules and assess their quality. * Compilation and assessment of analytical data (e.g. mass spec) regarding function and stability of the molecule to support candidate screening in high throughput. * Elucidation of structure and impurity/variant characterization of antibody-based drug materials. * Build and lead strategic alignments with key partners, revise and improve business workflows, run project timelines and resources. * Develops the efficient CMC development path for assigned discovery projects together with clients from various discovery and development functions with an emphasis on collaboration, quality and with a sense of urgency. * Operates in a matrix team environment, aligning across and executing shared departmental and divisional strategies. * Data review, documentation and preparation of technical memos and reports. * Mentor junior staff on troubleshooting equipment and experimental problems * Provision of scientific expertise and engagement in cross-functional teams within AbbVie. * Takes initiative to develop independent research ideas and pursues scientific questions that may arise during candidate selection/ nomination screening studies. * Presents data at internal and external professional conferences and prepares manuscripts for publication in peer reviewed journals or patent applications.
