Cox Automotive is currently looking for a Senior Instructional Designer to join our team in Atlanta, Georgia.

Your Role:

The Senior Instructional Designer is responsible for the successful design and development of interactive, engaging Instructor-led and Virtual workplace learning and development materials for Cox Automotive's Client Success sales teams. The programs being developed are primarily targeted for e-Learning, virtual classroom, instructor led classroom, or blended learning delivery to internal sales teams. This individual will perform the needs analysis, determine learning objectives, leverage subject matter experts for content, design and develop all materials, ensuring engaging and interactive exercises and construct learning evaluations/success measurements, all consistent with adult learning theory.

Job Summary:

  • Partners with stakeholders, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and vendors to ensure projects meet business goals

  • Creates eLearning, facilitator guides, hands-on activities, surveys, and coaching rubrics.

  • Analyze assigned projects to determine learning objectives and design, develop, and maintain curriculum materials

  • Develop learning content for multiple delivery methods including instructor-led, blended, virtual synchronous, and asynchronous environments.

  • Ideal candidate will excel in collaborating with business unit partners to understand cross-Cox Automotive business unit solutions and products, and the integrations between them.

  • Build learning deliverables against defined learning needs for blended, virtual, self-paced, and in-class delivery (including use of applicable technology).

  • Coordinate actors and direct training video production.

  • Maintain knowledge of adult learning theory and industry standards for continuous improvement.

  • Bachelor's Degree strongly preferred. In lieu of a degree, education and work experience will be considered. Master's Degree in Education, Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Educational Psychology, or related field preferred.

  • Automotive OEM/dealership experience is a strong plus, but not a requirement.

  • Experience in developing position certification paths preferred.

  • 5 years of Instructional Design experience (with minimum of 3 of those years focused on virtual design).

  • Must be able to operate and thrive independently in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment with a mindset of continuous improvement.

  • Must have proven experience taking complex business concepts and converting them to creative, engaging, and relevant learning experiences.

  • Exceptional planning, prioritization, and organizational skills.

  • Instructional Design (Proficiency: Intermediate-Advanced) Proven experience designing, and developing learning deliverables against defined learning needs for blended, virtual, self-paced, and in-class delivery (including use of eLearning Authoring software, such as Articulate Storyline, Camtasia Studio, Adobe Creative Suite (PremierePro, After Effects, Audition) and Virtual Classroom (including WebEx Training center, Skype for Business, GotoMeeting).

  • Mobile sales learning platforms preferred (LearnCore).

The ideal candidate would also have:

  • Multimedia Development (Proficiency: Intermediate) Demonstrated experience creating educational audio and video, including script writing and storyboarding (voiceover training and experience a bonus).

  • Graphic Design (Proficiency: Intermediate Advanced) Experience with graphic design for learning (documentation, presentations, guides, self-paced modules, etc.) and graphic learning software, such as Adobe Creative Suite (illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop), SnagIt.

  • Business and Collaboration Software (Proficiency: Intermediate Advanced) Demonstrated experience using software to complete projects and stay connected with key partners, such as MS Office, DropBox, SmartSheet.

  • Learning Management System (Proficiency: Intermediate Advanced) Proven experience uploading courses and accessing Learner Transcripts, Reports, etc. (SumTotal LMS).

  • Communication Skills (Proficiency: Advanced) Demonstrable advanced communication skills (verbal, written, presentation).

  • Maintain knowledge of adult learning theory and industry standards.

  • Consistently seeks to improve learning materials through innovation, advancements in eLearning industry, and other opportunities for improvement.

  • Actively utilizes industry resources, including: websites, conferences, associations, etc.

  • Develop strong relationships with SMEs and IDs throughout CAI to develop virtual content.

  • Experience with one or more Collaboration tools is mandatory (ex: Join.Me, GoTo, Skype).

  • SalesForce.com experience preferred.
