Act as a daily lead for staff in day-to-day inspection activities. Work with staff and the contractor industry in handling more complex projects in getting code and regulations for compliance and evaluate and/or determination of life safety impacts to the field conditions. This lead position is responsible for serving as a leader and is responsible for information sharing of code changes, oversight, delegation, and implementation of projects/plans according to codes and regulations.

This posting serves to attract candidates for Senior Inspector Residential New Construction Custom Team.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Assist staff with complex inspections issues including providing technical advice and direction
Perform inspections when needed.
Provide on-site technical assistance to field team members and customers
Work with other departments and agencies to coordinate workflow and assignments
Conduct quality checks to include reviewing work of staff, maintaining staff records, and conducting periodic customer service checks
Participate in team planning for the section to include area assignments, staffing, equipment needs
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Experience: Minimum of four years of inspection experience or eight years in a construction trade.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Construction, Engineering, or related field.
Combination of relevant education and relevant experience accepted? Yes
Licenses and Certifications: Ability to obtain at least one level III certification in a trade within one year of hire.
Valid North Carolina or South Carolina Driver's License. Requires County Driving Privileges.
