Tygart is currently seeking anSenior Information Security Analystto join our team supporting a Federal Civilian Agency the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC) in Washington, DC. This is an exciting opportunity to provide subject matter expertise to the governments Security Program Management Office (SPMO) and Information System Security Officer (ISSO).
This position requires that the candidate have, or be able to achieve, apublic trustsecurity clearance. Candidate should assume that work will regularly be performed on site at the Government facility in NW Washington, DC (metro-accessible).
Responsibilities include:
Operating, maintaining, and improving security incident response processes, tools and systems. This position will be responsible for ensuring that all potential security incidents are identified and actively managed before they can pose a risk to the IT infrastructure and stakeholders. Specific responsibilities include using a wide variety of tools such as Splunk, Fire power, Symantec to identify, prioritize, and manage potential security incidents.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelors degree
  • At least 5 years of IT security-related experience
REQUIRED SKILLS:
  • Security certification such as CEH, CISSP or equivalent
  • Experience with TCP/IP networking (LAN, WAN, DMZ) systems
  • Knowledge of network security, current information security threats and incident management concepts and practices
  • Good organizational and communication skills to be able to interface with client and stakeholders.
  • Strong communication skills and a solid understanding of IT Security concepts to include security operations, incident handling & response, security engineering, and vulnerability & patch management
  • Ability to work with other team members and groups, work with competing priorities, and possess strong customer focus.
DESIRED SKILLS:
  • Operational security & incident response experience with tools such as Sourcefire IDS/IPS, Antivirus, Vulnerability Scanners, and SIEM
  • Relevant security certifications (CISSP, CEH, GPEN, GWAPT, GXPN, GWEB, GSSP-JAVA, GSSP-.NET)
  • Certification and accreditation experience
  • Familiarity with NIST and federal standards such as OMB & FISMA

The Office of Cybersecurity is looking to procure a qualified technical security auditor to support various activities within the Information Assurance Directorate. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Conduct in-depth system technical security reviews and risk assessments during all phases of the system development life cycle and provide recommendations for improvements. * Perform periodic and on-demand system audits and vulnerability assessments, including * application, file system and external Web integrity scans, to determine compliance. * Participate in the development of technical security standards to support policies including * monitoring standards and incident investigation procedures. * Participate in the development of maintenance schedules and policies to maintain the optimal * operation of the security systems. * Monitor the selection, installation, testing, and operation of information security software * programs to ensure such programs meet defined system security needs. * Experience with Nessus vulnerability scanning * Perform other official duties as assigned. Education: Education: * Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline preferred. Qualifications: Qualifications: * 3+ years of related experience in cybersecurity assessment/auditing * Demonstrated experience operating and analyzing the data produced by security vulnerability, * compliance and patch management tools. * Familiarity with the Center for Internet Security (CIS) benchmarks, DISA Security Technical * Implementation Guides. * Ability to comprehend and integrate complex computer technology and software into an * effective information systems security program. * Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, information systems * professionals, and technical and non-technical users. * Bachelor's degree in related field or at least 5 years working experience in the security field. * One or more of the following preferred: CISSP, GIAC, EnCE, CCE, CEH, CISA, CISM.
