The Independent Testing and Validation (IT&V) group is responsible for establishing and maintaining a consolidated Enterprise Testing program at the corporate level. Independent Testing and Validation is responsible for developing a common methodology and standards, providing governance and oversight, executing testing; and conducting horizontal reviews. Testing and validation teams are responsible for implementing the Enterprise Testing methodology, standards, and executing group- specific testing.

Corporate Investment Banking (CIB) Testing and Validation, within IT&V, is seeking a Senior Independent Testing Specialist to lead and assist with the development and execution of testing and issue validation activities, including independently assessing the design and operating effectiveness of CIB - Commercial Real Estate (CRE) business controls in accordance with Enterprise, CIB standards and Line of Business (LOB) specific requirements. This position will also be responsible for covering the Commercial Credit Workout (CCW) businesses.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead and coach other team members throughout multiple concurrent reviews.

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships across IT&V teams, CRE and CCW lines of business, and Internal Audit.

  • Lead and/or participate in planning, scoping, executing and reporting on testing and issue validation reviews.

  • Conduct interviews within the lines of business to develop a strong understanding of relevant processes and controls that mitigate risk.

  • Document process walk-throughs that clearly and concisely explain the key process steps and how they are performed.

  • Complete timely and efficient tests to support conclusions on the design and performance of controls and overall effectiveness of the control environment.

  • Complete issue validation activities to assess the adequacy of corrective actions that address the risk and control issues identified during testing reviews.

  • Document test steps and results in a clear and concise manner that support the work completed and can be easily understood by an independent person.

  • Review testing documentation and results completed by team members on reviews and provide feedback to ensure work papers are fully supported.

  • Communicate testing results to management, at the appropriate time and with the necessary level of detail, to ensure no surprises.

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of Independent Testing experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • Ability to identify issues, risk and escalate to the appropriate party

  • Full testing lifecycle experience that includes determining scope, designing test scripts, executing tests, identifying and escalating issues and risks, and documenting and reporting results

  • Prior public accounting firm with experience in business process, regulatory, audit, or advisory/consulting service

  • Issues management, validation and tracking

  • Experience leading testing engagements, preferably of large scope, while leading other testers and resources

  • Experience providing "credible challenge" to business partners when necessary, with the ability to lead through influence

  • Experience writing reports for senior leadership audience level

  • Experience in Audit, Compliance, Risk and Testing

  • Critical Thinking and Analytical skills
