We currently have a Senior Income Tax Analyst career opportunity at our Dallas, Texas location.

POSITION PURPOSE: The Senior Tax Analyst will work primarily as part of a team responsible for federal and state tax compliance, audits and tax provisions; with some assistance with tax modeling and planning.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Corporate income taxes

Ability to analyze financial data and reconcile information from data base to financial statements

Pull data from various systems to summarize tax position and workpapers for tax returns

Prepares federal and state income tax corporate returns including combined / consolidated filings and partnership returns

Prepare forms related to United States reporting of international operations.

Provides analytical support for the preparation of the Company's income tax provision and effective tax rate computations.

Prepares quarterly federal and state estimated tax payments and extensions.

Ability to identify and resolve tax issues.

Assist in support of IRS examination.

Demonstrates up-to-date expertise in federal and state income tax compliance and applies this to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans.

Research federal and state tax issues.

Assist with monthly maintenance of Tax fixed assets books, for non-integrated companies, and legal entity rollforwards.

Audits

Gather, coordinate and analyze information for defense of state income tax audits.

Prepare correspondence for federal and state tax authorities in response to notices and questionnaires.

Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers such as financial and government auditors.

Tax planning

Assist in research required for proposed transactions for the U.S. group.

Assist in gathering and analyzing data related to tax savings opportunities for the company.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelors in Accounting; CPA or CPA eligible preferred

Minimum of three years experience in public accounting or private industry working primarily in corporate tax (consolidated and multi-state returns) and flow-thru entities a plus

Tax Software Skills Preferred: CorpTax (or similar)

Additional Software Skills Preferred: MS Suite, Oracle, OBIEE, Hyperion

Excellent time management and organization skills

Excellent communication skills - verbal and written

Ability to work with cross functional teams and proactively seek solutions or suggest improvements

Ability to analyze data to use technology in order to gain efficiencies

Self-Motivated, business savvy, integrity and team player

Research and Analytical skills a must

Work on tax provision preparation for quarterly and annual reporting for public and private clients. Work on specific technical areas such as tax basis balance sheets, Sec. 704 book to tax basis difference, and outside basis differences. Review high net-worth individuals federal and state tax returns. Provide tax consulting to high net-worth individuals regarding filing requirements in some states, deductibility of certain expenses, foreign tax credit, child tax credit and quarterly estimates analysis. Provide technical training's to interns and associates. Assist with new hires on-boarding and with campus recruiting events. Requirements: Master's degree in Accounting, Taxation or Finance Minimum two years of associate level tax consulting or tax compliance experience. Must have experience working with federal and state partnership and individual tax returns, extensions and estimates for public and private clients. Must have experience utilizing advanced functions in Excel including macro and VBA; using various tax software including GoSystems, GoFileRoom and Fixed Assets; and preparing a partnership or an individual tax return from initial financials received from the client to the final tax returns with zero defects. Must also have experience analyzing client financials including income statements, balance sheets, fixed asset additions and depreciation reports.
