Role InformationJob Title: Senior In House Counsel- LegalDepartment: LegalBusiness Unit: AdministrationReports To: Director- LegalSupervisory Role: YesFLSA Status: ExemptJob SummaryThe Senior In House Counsel- Legal assists with the organization, implementation, and leadership of the Legal Department, including coordinating all activities linked to the detection, identification, and mitigation of legal risk. In addition, the role ensures the business unit's compliance with related Lidl International requirements.Essential Functions * Represent the company in legal affairs * Assist with designing and implementing best practices and process improvements for the legal department * Collaborate with management to evaluate and execute initiatives to detect, identify, and mitigate risks * Oversee cross-divisional conception, coordination and implementation of central contract management * Develop contract standards and sample contracts, where applicable based on Legal & Compliance International templates * Coordinate and communicate with other departments regarding legal affairs as needed * Train managers and staff on legal department and development topics and give professional advice to colleagues in legal affairs * Execute meeting reporting obligations in accordance with the specifications of Management and Legal International * Manage external contractors * Manage contract negotiations and produce and review contracts * Develop, organize and implement sensitization and training courses * Monitor and analyze relevant legislation and jurisdiction * Communicate with courts, authorities and external solicitors * Perform other duties as assignedRequiredRequired Knowledge, Skills, Abilities * Significant experience with and ability to perform trademark and trade dress clearance within tight constraints * Ability to research legal issues and provide clear and concise written and oral advice * Excellent time management, organizational and interpersonal skills * Excellent communication skills * Excellent problem solving and analytical skills with attention to detail * Excellent leadership skills * Strong drafting and negotiation skills * Strong communication and interpersonal skills * Ability to work to tight deadlinesPreferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities * General knowledge of intellectual property and related fields including in transactions, litigation and claim settlement, and risk analysis * Strong technical and presentation skills * Strong research skills * Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPointRequired Education, Certifications/ Licenses, Related Experience * Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited US law school* 5 years of experience in related field * Member in Good Standing of at least 1 state bar required (Virginia preferred); must be able to present certificate of Good Standing from State Bar * Experience reading and interpreting regulations, laws, and statutesPreferred Education, Certifications/ Licenses, Related Experience * Experience with trademark litigation * Experience at a mid- to large law firm in relevant field * In-house experience at large national or international company * Retail experience - candidate has (i) handled legal matters for large national retail chain clients while working at law firm; or (ii) worked in the legal department at a large national retail chainPhysical Job Requirements * Ability to work in a fast-paced working environment, including the store(s), distribution center(s), warehouse(s), and/or corporate office(s) with the capability to switch job functions/roles quickly * Ability to remain in a stationary position (standing and/or seated) more than half the time * Ability to maneuver cases of product (lift, move, carry, slide, etc.) up to 30 lbs. * Ability to operate machinery and/or equipment that requires the constant use of hands/fingers/wrists * Ability to spend more than half the time viewing computer monitors * Ability to identify and distinguish between colors more than half the timeTravel Requirements * This position commutes between stores, regional offices and/or distribution centers less than 25% of the time * This position requires overnight domestic travel less than 25% of the time * This position requires overnight international travel less than 25% of the time * Anticipated travel will be by car, air, and/or trainPreferredExternal Job Desc Footer.Internal Job Desc Footer.

VIEW JOBS 10/8/2019 12:00:00 AM 2020-01-06T00:00 Position Description: Seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to perform the full range of life cycle contract administration duties for contracts in our Defense business unit. The contracts manager will primarily support a large scale, multi-year software development and integration contract with the Navy. The engagement involves cyber-security, SOC/networking and other high-end IT services, Agile and other software development activities, hosting/cloud service offerings, and proprietary COTS software license/maintenance offerings. The individual will need to be able to shift support to new accounts and contracts as the need arises to accommodate dynamic priorities. Strategic and tactical proposal support is a significant part of this role. Although the primary place of work is CGI's Fairfax office, Candidate must be available to work from our Ballston (Arlington) office several days a week, as well as attend meetings in person at the client's site in Washington, D. C. Overview: Full-cycle contract administration responsibilities, which as a minimum, includes oversight of detailed financial/funding requirements of multi-CLIN contracts, RFP/RFQ analysis, subsequent proposal preparation review/support, negotiations, post-award contract set-up and administration, close collaboration with subcontracts/procurement/finance/ program management, etc., and support for contract closeouts, all in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and customer/contract specifications. Your future duties and responsibilities: The position requires the individual to work closely and develop good working relationships with Contracting Officers externally, and all internal stakeholders by establishing routine, professional communications, both verbally and in writing. The successful candidate will be required to have collaborative and daily interaction with these individuals, including program staff, legal, and contracts/subcontracts/procurement/finance and billing team members, in order to promote a collaborative working environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for assigned agency(s) procurements/contracts and will also be responsible for maintenance of contract data in company database(s), contract files, and the submission of ad-hoc reporting and research, as needed. Will be responsible for collaborating with proposal teams on proposal efforts for new competitive and sole source procurements for follow-on work or other pursuits as assigned. May also be responsible for detailed review and collaboration on smaller non-competitive responses, to include ROM estimates and RFI responses, including final electronic submission and correspondence with the government's designated acquisitions workforce as applicable. Will be expected to be mature, professional, and have the ability to think independently to resolve problems using proactive concepts, techniques, standards, and apply a general business acumen as it applies to contract management. Required qualifications to be successful in this role: BA/BS plus minimum 7 years relevant experience. Additional years relevant experience may be substituted for educational requirement. Strong preference to military or civilian DoD/Navy acquisition experience; must have experience administering U.S. Navy contracts. Must have excellent analytical skills, effective written and oral communication skills, effective negotiation skills and strong interpersonal skills. Must understand the broader impact of proposed or awarded work and contract terms on the company, be able to identify and resolve contract issues with guidance as necessary and advise program staff and management of contractual rights and obligations. Applicant must have a strong working knowledge of contract administration principles and possess working knowledge of U. S. Government procurement regulations (FAR/DFAR/Agency Regs, as applicable). Ability to directly and professionally interact and negotiate with government acquisitions personnel and teaming partner personnel. Demonstrated ability to identify issues and problems on assigned contracts and make independent recommendations to direct supervisor(s), program staff, and business unit management. Advanced Degrees and/or Contract Management related class work or certifications a plus; but not required. Desired Preferred Additional Qualifications: Experience negotiating NDAs, Teaming Agreements, and similar legal instruments is preferred.
