Experienced aerodynamicist is sought to support the wind tunnel testing effort for a hypersonic booster program. The candidate will work with the Aero/Performance team to develop an appropriate test strategy to obtain the required data to support aero database development across the flight regime. The candidate will coordinate all aspects of wind tunnel testing, to include model design, model build, wind tunnel test planning, test execution, and post-processing of the wind tunnel data
The ideal candidate is a mid-level engineer with high potential for aerodynamic configuration development and analysis. The ideal candidate may also support some of the following tasks depending on skills and background: Aerodynamic configuration development, aerodynamic database generation, aerodynamic CFD analysis, interactions with related disciplines to provide analysis inputs (thermal, structural, & CAS).
Wind tunnel test experience, preferably in supersonic or hypersonic tunnels.
Experience using Matlab, FORTRAN, or C/C++.
The successful candidate must have excellent verbal and written communications skills. Must be familiar with Microsoft Office Suite tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Candidates should be comfortable giving presentations to program leadership and government customers.
Candidate must have a secret clearance with preference towards those that have had an investigation within 5 years.
