Overview TRC is seeking a highly motivated Senior Hydrogeologist or Engineer who is a Groundwater Modeling subject matter expert (SME) to join our EH&S, Engineering, Construction, and Remediation (ECR) team operating out of Greenville, SC. We recognize that a Groundwater Modeling SME can have a variety of educational backgrounds (including hydrology, geology, hydrogeology, civil and/or environmental engineering, etc). This position will integrate into a well-developed team of environmental engineers, scientists, geologists, and hydrogeologists in a collaborative environment to provide technical support and project management leadership.

This position offers a flexible working arrangement. We are seeking a candidate with demonstrated experience in the environmental field with an emphasis on groundwater flow and contaminant transport modeling (subject matter expert), analytical and numerical groundwater flow and contaminant transport modeling, site investigation/assessment, development of conceptual site models, quantitative evaluation of hydrogeologic data, hydrogeologic support in the development of remedial solutions environmental consulting. Responsibilities may also include project management (for simple and complex field sampling, data evaluation and report generation activities (commonly under the RCRA or CERCLA regulatory umbrella). Advancement to client-management and "seller-do'er" responsibilities will be welcomed.

Responsibilities Coordinate and support a variety of field work activities, such as environmental assessments, soil and groundwater environmental investigations, and groundwater monitoring programs. Conduct hydrogeological analyses, site characterization, and develop conceptual site models incorporating site geology and hydrogeology. Contribute to technical reports and work plans and provide Quality Assurance reviews for technical reports prepared by others.

Manage complex tasks and integrated projects to ensure internal and external expectations are met for scope, budget, schedule, and quality. Lead and assist development of proposals, including preparation of work scopes and budgets. Provide oversight, mentorship, and review of junior staff work products for regulatory compliance, technical accuracy, completeness, and quality.

Maintain positive working relationships with coworkers, clients, suppliers, contractors, and external agencies. Develop and successfully implement health and safety and quality management plans for each project. Travel periodically, possibly to remote locations.

Able to work independently or on a project team. Take an active role in personal professional development, including learning new skills and actively looking for new opportunities to participate in projects and opportunities. Qualifications Possess a Master's degree in Geology/Geoscience/Hydrogeology, or Civil/Environmental Engineering; or related field of study from an accredited university.

Must have knowledge of and demonstrated groundwater modeling experience. Experience with MODFLOW and contaminant transport software. Must have a valid Professional Engineer (PE) or Geologist (PG) license in one or more southeastern state or be able to obtain one within the first 6 months.

Must have 15+ years of professional experience in environmental consulting working on environmental projects including soil, vapor, and groundwater investigations, contaminant fate and transport, remediation, and/or landfill groundwater monitoring. Knowledge of vapor intrusion, and/or emerging contaminants. Knowledge and demonstrated experience with State and Federal environmental regulations (e.g., CERCLA, RCRA), standards and guidance documents for environmental site assessments, site characterization, soil and groundwater monitoring programs, and remediation of contaminated sites.

Strong scientific and technical skills, including data collection, experimental design, data analysis and interpretation, and report writing. Capability to effectively manage field and office tasks to completion without supervision, including tasks involving coordination with subcontractors and staff from multiple TRC offices. Candidate is expected to possess solid technical and problem-solving skills.

A valid driver's license is required. Ability to work efficiently under conditions of multiple deadlines and changing priorities. Ability to manage time independently, manage multiple project assignments, and to work effectively on a project team.

Strong sense of responsibility and work ethic. Excellent communication (verbal and written) and collaboration skills that facilitate detailed planning, timely decision-making, and efficient implementation. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite required.

Preferred Qualifications M.S. required. Degree(s) in Engineering/Geology/Geoscience or Hydrogeology with coursework and/or experience in hydrogeology or engineering required.

Professional Geologist or Engineer in the one or more southeastern states and ability and interest in obtaining additional Professional credentials.

Subject matter expert (SME) in analytical and numerical groundwater flow and contaminant transport modeling 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification and current 8-hour refresher training. Experience in environmental forensics, geochemical investigations, 3D visualization software, and statistical analysis of environmental data a plus.
