Job Overview

We are recruiting a Senior Engineer with specialty in Hydraulics to support our Longview, TX operations. Excellent benefit package, 401K including employer contribution and matching, bonus/merit potential, relocation assistance and competitive pay.

Key Job Responsibilities

• The Hydraulic Engineer is the subject matter expert and responsible for engineering design, documentation, testing, and technical support of both field and manufacturing issues in the areas of hydraulic and pneumatic systems and components on large mobile mining equipment.

• Work safe and be an advocate for safety. Drive culture to zero harm.

• Primary design responsibility for hydraulic and pneumatic systems used on Komatsu Equipment

• Selection responsibility for all purchased hydraulic and pneumatic components (i.e. cylinders, valves, pumps).

• Provide technical interface with external hydraulic and pneumatic components suppliers and our internal Supply Chain Management function.

• Overseeing and developing hydraulic and or pneumatic systems and component tests and test procedures.

• Provide technical support to manufacturing and assembly as it relates to hydraulic and pneumatic systems

• Oversee failure analysis of hydraulic and pneumatic components and ability to troubleshoot equipment.

• Supervise assigned drafting staff supporting this area.

• Actively champion design improvements that promote increases in reliability or decreases in either manufacturing cost or operating cost.

• Provide technical support to Product Support and Dealer Technicians.

• Provide technical support to our Technical Publications area in the way of documentation, assistance in writing maintenance manuals, and assistance in writing Service Information Letters.

Qualifications/Requirements

• BS Engineering

• 
  

  12 years experience in hydraulic and pneumatic systems design and testing, preferably in mobile off-highway machinery

  
  

• Experience in hydraulic and pneumatic analytical tools such as Flowmaster, Easy 5, AmeSim.

• Experience in the use of computer-aided design (CAD) tools. Solid Works/Solid Edge

• Experienced in specifying and supporting hydraulic and pneumatic control system strategies including algorithm definition, alarms, closed loop control, etc.

• Participation in implementing Lean Engineering principles desired.

• Participation in effective Change Management implementation desired.

• Experience in cross-functional team assignment(s) desired.

• Certifications or demonstrated project management desired.

• Professional registration and/or membership in committees and/or technical societies, beneficial.

• Ability to assimilate large volumes of information (technical, Voice of Customer, and commercial) from multiple sources in order to have credibility with customers, project team partners and peers.

• Effective communication and follow-up skills to manage projects from concept to completion.

• Certified Fluid Power Engineer credentials and computer aided hydraulic systems modeling experience would be a plus.

• Ability to influence and deliver results through people.
