Overview

The Senior HWIL Simulation Engineer position is a full-time exempt position. The individual will contribute to the design, development, integration and test of a real-time Hardware-In-The-Loop (HWIL) system for DoD applications. This individual will lead the development of HWIL solutions for a wide range of missile defense projects. The individual will report to a Program Director.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and/or support the development and implementation of HWIL system architecture

  • Lead and/or support the development of real-time software and hardware drivers using C, C++, on Linux operating systems

  • Support HWIL hardware design solutions to include design analog and digital circuits, design serial interfaces, identify and evaluate test equipment and specialized hardware devices, etc.

  • Implement technical standards, principles, concepts and techniques in the development of HWIL system solutions.

  • Interface with Integrated Product Team Leads (IPTL) and stake holders to ensure program objectives are achieved.

  • Should expect to be immersed in a fast-paced, team-based, and challenging technical environment where an individual with talent and initiative can stand out and thrive.

  • Ensure customer and corporate policies and procedures are adhered to in the day to day performance of duties.

  • Support other duties as assigned.

Skills and Competencies:

  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering or similar degree is required. MS degree in Electrical Engineering or similar degree is preferred

  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant HWIIL systems experience required

  • Demonstrated experience with C/C++, Linux operating systems is required

  • Experience with National Instruments LabVIEW is highly desired

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to prioritize work effective and handle multiple tasks at a time

  • Familiarity with Agile development practices is desired

  • Experience with Spirent GPS simulator is highly desired

This opportunity is available in both: Huntsville, AL and at Schriever Air Force Base/ Colorado Springs, CO. This position is contingent upon award of contract and may be temporarily remote due to COVID-19. Duties and responsibilities include: * Independently evaluate, select and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria, and make minor adaptations and modifications. * Provide independent and professional support on portions of complex projects. Specific assignment objectives, approaches, and possible solutions are reviewed for accuracy and completeness. * Independently perform project assignments that involves complex features and can be guided by codes, standards, and other precedents of the discipline * Analyze and/or evaluate the results of an analysis using techniques prescribed by senior engineers or supervisors; and accomplishes tasks of which require investigation of a many variables. Qualifications * Must possess a Bachelor's Degree in engineering specialization or related discipline and ten (10) years applicable experience; or a Master's Degree in engineering specialization or related discipline and five (5) years applicable experience. * Top Secret security clearance is required with Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) eligibility. * Experience in DoD integrated test philosophy, test regulations, and coordinated test and evaluation programs are required. * Must be familiar with DoD drawings, specifications practices, formats and procedures. Preferred Experience: * Modeling and simulation as applied to the BMDS. * Conducting accreditation assessment for all models and simulations (M&S) used in Missile Defense Agency (MDA) tests by ensuring that the verification and validation (V&V) activities provide evidence to demonstrate that the M&S are representing the real-world system and are suitable for operational performance assessments.
