UDR, Inc. is now hiring a Senior Human Resources Specialist to join our team at our corporate office in Highlands Ranch.

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Performs administrative services for the entire Human Resources Team, including, but not limited to, company event planning, expense administration, and taking meeting notes. The position will also be responsible for providing administrative support to the VP - Human Resources and Corporate Counsel, as well as Organizational Development.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

General Administrative Responsibilities:

  • Validates, codes, and submits all incoming invoice expenses on behalf of the Human Resources Team and for the monthly PNC reconciliation.

  • Manages company-wide HR communications through a shared inbox.

  • Composes and prepares confidential correspondence, reports, and other documents

  • Oversee and analyze HR's financial information (such as cash management, expenditures٫, and revenues), making sure that HR's financial operations do not exceed budget limits.

  • Review budget suggestions and requests.

  • Routes incoming mail to the Human Resources Team.

  • Makes copies of correspondence or other printed materials.

  • Order ad hoc office supplies for the HR Team, as needed.

  • Assists Human Resources Departments with special projects as needed.

  • Performs other duties and special projects as assigned or necessary.

  • Coordinates the quarterly Living the Values recognition program and the quarterly Open Door electronic newsletter.

Event Planning Responsibilities:

  • Monthly and annual event planning, design, and production while managing all project delivery elements within time limits

  • Conduct market research, gather information, and negotiate contracts prior to closing any deals.

  • Provide feedback and periodic reports to VP - Human Resources and Corporate Counsel

  • Propose ideas to improve provided services and event quality

  • Organize facilities and manage all event details such as decor, catering, entertainment, transportation, location, invitee list, special guests, equipment, promotional material, etc.

  • Work closely with internal departments to ensure compliance with insurance, legal, health and safety obligations

  • Proactively handle any arising issues and troubleshoot any emerging problems on the event day

  • Conduct pre-and post-event evaluations and report on outcomes

  • Research market, identify event opportunities, and generate interest

PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Knowledge of organizational policies and procedures. Knowledge of general office practices, organizational policies, and procedures. Knowledge of Human Resources policies and procedures. Ability to apply policies and procedures to solve everyday issues.

  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality, accuracy in preparing and entering information, and attention to detail. Thorough knowledge of office practices, procedures, and equipment. Ability to meet and deal effectively with associates and management.

  • Ability to establish priorities and coordinate work activities. Ability to exercise initiative, problem-solving, and multi-tasking skills. Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal, team-building, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret reports and documents. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions.

  • Proven professional communication skills and outgoing personality. This position requires strong interpersonal skills in order to maintain contact and work effectively with all levels of management, employees, and outside parties. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or business community members. Ability to effectively present information to top management. Must have effective verbal and listening communication skills. Ability to quickly develop strong internal working relationships.

  • Must have extensive experience with computer skills, including spreadsheets, word processing programs, and e-mail, at a highly proficient level. Knowledge of computer systems and applications. Composition skills, setting up and typing accurately and with reasonable speed, various correspondence, reports, and other materials. Ability to process computer data and format and generate reports. Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Some bending, stooping, and stretching. Occasionally lifting items weighing up to 30 lbs. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate reports. Extensive data input and required ability to sit for long periods of time. Regular and consistent attendance on the job is an essential function.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Normal office environment. Occasional evening or weekend work.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or equivalent is preferred.

  • High School diploma with four to six years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

  • Minimum of five years' related experience as an executive level administrative position is required. Human Resources experience is preferred.

  • Must have and maintain a valid driver's license unless otherwise noted.

Hourly Range:

  • $25.90/hr. - $35.00/hr., depends on experience

Bonus Potential:

  • Eligible for 10% annual bonus potential, based on personal and company performance
