Position Summary:
The Human Resources Generalist has responsibilities for the following functional areas of HR: recruitment, new hire orientation, employee relations, and employee retention. The Human Resources Generalist will support activities to reduce employee turnover and to attract top talent to fill open positions. This role will work closely with all levels of the business, providing exceptional customer service. Position requires a high level of discretion, ability to protect confidential information and appropriate professional manner at all times.
Essential Functions:
1.Identify and be proactive on resource needs, recruitment, selection and onboarding processes.
2.Utilize data analytics to drive key decision making. Analyzes hiring, turnover, retention, talent management trends and make recommendations for improvement.
3.Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the Human Resources Manager.
4.Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
5.Support recruitment and hiring process including job postings, sourcing and screening applicants, maintaining recruiting systems, providing follow-through with candidates, maintaining records and reporting results utilizing Workday Platform.
6.Support new employee onboarding process.
7.Lead the new hire orientation process to include scheduling of new hire orientation, completion of employment eligibility paperwork an e-Verify processing, new hire paperwork and timeclock training.
8.Manage employee referral incentive program.
9.Maintain employee records including personnel files and HRIS information.
Update job descriptions as needed.
Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources and employment law.
Ensure accuracy/compliance of employee data and files through regular review and audit
Process job changes, promotions, terminations and any other employee changes.
Ensure that exiting employees are managed appropriately including system notifications and conducting exit interviews
Support company initiatives, such as; quality, safety and environmental management, CQI, 5S, yield management, and cost containment.
Perform other duties as required
Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Human Resources or its equivalent.
3+ years of progressive Human Resources experience
Sound knowledge of labor laws and regulations
Requires strong listening, verbal and written communication skills, as well as effective presentation skills to be able to communicate effectively and professionally with all levels of employees.
Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
Sound organizational skills with ability to prioritize and multi-task to ensure deadlines are met
Exhibit a sense of urgency and focus on results while remaining flexible
Must be able to work on-site
