Purpose and Job Summary
The Senior Human Resources Generalist will execute on a broad range of human resources services in support of business objectives and strategies, with the purpose of enhancing employee engagement, productivity, and growth of the ORIX Real Estate Capital (OREC) team. Under the supervision of the Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP), the Senior HR Generalist will deliver on both administrative and strategic responsibilities, including, but not limited to, talent acquisition, talent management and development, employee engagement, company culture, and optimization of the full employee lifecycle experience.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Supports the HRBP with the design, development and implementation of strategic HR initiatives, programs and processes to deliver top-notch results to support the assigned client groups in achieving their business goals and objectives
Partner with HR colleagues and hiring managers to develop creative recruitment strategies for open positions and in anticipation of future workforce planning needs
Identify, utilize and manage creative talent sourcing methods and strategies to drive candidate flow, including social media, professional associations, networking, university career fairs and job boards, and company career pages
Proactively and creatively source and recruit active and passive candidates to build candidate pipelines with strong industry talent to fill existing open positions, as well as future hiring needs
Manage the full candidate selection process for a multi-state client group, including the sourcing and screening top talent, interview coordination with hiring managers and key stakeholders, development of fair and competitive offers, and partner with HR colleagues and candidates on pre-hire paperwork and background check processes
Partner with cross-functional departments to facilitate an exceptional first-day employee experience, and provide support to the business on an onboarding process that builds employee engagement and fosters an effective, smooth transition into the organization. Continually assess orientation and onboarding programs and processes, and recommendations for enhancement.
Assist in the management and execution of the summer internship program by ensuring top-notch candidates are placed into the organization. Support the onboarding, training and summer analyst team engagement touchpoints of the program to help deliver a meaningful experience for all participants.
Partner with business and HR leaders on the annual Performance Management cycle, which may include employee communications, trainings, audits, analysis and timely follow-up is executed to ensure that all milestones occur according to the defined performance management timelines
Support staff and managers through assessing and deploying training through LMS and other opportunities. Work collaboratively with internal resources to evaluate, organize, and deliver training programs. Facilitate programs that encourage growth and professional development.
Promote a positive work environment and execute on strategies that build and enhance corporate culture, which may include the planning and management of team member networking events, training sessions, philanthropic initiatives and employee recognition programs
Provide consultative services to team members at all levels within the organization by effectively supporting employees and managers through various HR matters, process questions and policy interpretation with accuracy and efficiency
Assist with special projects and deliverables, which may include assignments relative to: internal and regulatory audit support, HR metrics reporting, training and development coordination, change management, organizational development and other initiatives in support of the business
This position has frequent contact with various levels of internal employees and leaders, as well as 3rd party vendors, candidates, and other external individuals.
Education, Skills and Experience
Bachelor's degree preferred with a concentration in human resources, organizational leadership or related field from an accredited, four year university required
A minimum of 5 years' of comprehensive HR generalist experience required, with previous experience commercial lending, banking, real estate or financial services environments preferred
Advanced knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, employee relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws
Ability to work collaboratively and openly with cross-functional business partners
Detail and action-oriented with exceptional organizational skills and ability to multi-task
Collaborative business partner with external and internal clients, vendors, candidates and colleagues
Excellent communication skills both oral and written
Ability to effectively perform in a high-energy, fast-paced environment
Self-starter who is able to drive projects to conclusion and work effectively with colleagues at various levels of the organization
Strong understanding of state and federal employment laws
Ability to travel locally and out of state occasionally
Maintains confidentiality on HR matters, as appropriate
Advanced proficiency in MS
