Who we are looking for:

This is a professional opportunity for a business minded, hands-on HR professional who has demonstrated they are able to execute projects, make an impact, and is a true change agent. Under the guidance of the Director Human Resources, the Human Resources Manager will lead and execute talent acquisition/staffing, employee relations, coaching and counseling of management team to maximize the contribution of our associates. This individual will work within a small team and lead and/or co-lead various projects in areas such as supervisor skills training, manpower analysis and employment, recognition and employee investigations. This individual will be a valuable member of the Regional Distribution Management team as well as provide HR support for the Manufacturing plants in Harvey, IL.

What you'll do:

• Manage Talent acquisition process for salaried and production associates including recruiting, screening and interviewing applicants to fill requisitions, create and update job descriptions as needed, train hiring managers on Atkore's Recruitment and Selection process.

• Serves as a business partner focusing on brokering solutions

• Lead Human Resources activities for a three-shift distribution center and a Special Metals Processing Facility

• Implement pro-active approaches pertaining to employee hiring and selection, and compensation in support of the goals and strategic objectives.

• Focuses on creating a positive associate relations environment and culture.

• Manage manpower planning and job movement related activities including processing employee data changes and interface with payroll on payroll changes and employment related actions.

• Investigates and helps to resolve Employee Relations issues and complaints, including Compliance Hotline investigations.

• Coordinate with Senior Labor Relations Representative and Human Resources Manager to support labor relations and grievance process

• Collaborate with other HR functional areas in delivering quality support to the client groups.

What you'll bring:

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or related field.

• 5 years+ of relevant experience

• Experience with union environment and labor relations preferred

• Excellent computer skills with ability to analyze information and create reports

• Ability to objectively coach employees and management through complex, difficult, and emotional issues

• Flexibility to come in early or occasionally work off shift hours to provide support to 2nd and 3rd shift as needed

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Within 3 months, you'll:

• Complete your Atkore immersion program.

• Understand how your job will help deliver Atkore's strategy.

• Gain an understanding of your role, the HR organization, and the organization you support.

• Gain an understanding of the training materials and procedures your team owns.

Within 6-months, you'll:

• Establish strong working relationships with the leadership team you support as well as build rapport with employees

• Be leading the recruitment process for the salaried and hourly openings at your sites

• Identify opportunities to improve standard processes in employee and labor relations

• Identify ways to strengthen the team's commitment to Atkore's core values of Accountability, Teamwork, Integrity, Respect and Excellence.

Within 12-months, you'll:

• Have meaningful performance conversations and coaching sessions with your site leaders.

• Lead development and training for supervision and front line associates.

• Perform as backup to Senior Human Resources Manager for North America Metal Framing and Construction & Prefab Services as well as backup to Human Resources Manager and Labor Relations Specialist for Harvey campus

• Be able to resolve any issues quickly and safely
