Senior Human Resources Business Partner

The Senior Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) is responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management in designated business units. The HRBP serves as a consultant to management on human resources-related issues. The successful HRBP will act as an employee champion and change agent. The HRBP assesses and anticipates HR-related needs. Communicating needs proactively with our HR department and business management, the HRBP seeks to develop integrated solutions. The HRBP formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflect the business objectives of the organization. The HRBP maintains an effective level of business literacy about the business' financial position, its culture and its competition.

The Basics

  • You will work collaboratively with the larger Human Resources team and business units managing employee relations, HR programs, culture, and engagement initiatives

  • Consult with business leaders, providing HR guidance when appropriate

  • Cultivate deep understanding of business unit needs, trends and metrics and utilize this information to work in partnership with the HR team to develop solutions, programs and policies

  • Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to management (coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions)

  • Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention

  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues; conduct effective, thorough and objective investigations

  • Provide HR program and policy guidance and interpretation

  • Provide guidance and input on business unit workforce planning and succession planning

  • Ability to travel as needed

What You Bring

  • 8+ years' experience in a human resources business partner role

  • Experience resolving complex employee relations issues

  • Experience with HRIS and other human resources tools and systems

  • Ability to consult with business leaders at all levels

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Working knowledge of multiple human resources disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational development, employee relations, diversity, and federal and state respective employment laws

  • A four-year degree

  • SHRM-CP/PHR or SHRM-SCP/SPHR Certification is preferred

Brief Overview: The Strategic HR Business Partner will play a critical role in Human Resources department. As our Strategic HR Business Partner, you will be accountable for aligning people strategy with business strategy, as well as areas related to organizational development, training, employee relations, employment, performance management and compensation management. Specifically, the Strategic HR Business Partner will: 1.) Strategic Direction * Partner with senior leadership team to provide strategic HR guidance. Including the development, implementation and/or oversight of training, contingency planning, compensation & performance management programs. * Provides appropriate inputs in business group's strategic processes: Organizational OKRs/Strategy & Annual HR Talent Processes. * Facilitate the development of programs & solutions to help support and respond to business needs. Provide proactive HR advice to leaders to minimize & prevent company liability and increase profitability. * Analyze employee data (turnover, employee satisfaction, exit interviews, OKRs, etc.) to enhance & improve HR programs and services and employee experience. * Under the direction of the SVP, People and Culture, coordinate all strategic activities as appropriate with cross-functional teams within the group and at the corporate level. 2.) Organizational Development * Continually assess & develop organization structure in order to meet future needs of organization that ties back with business strategy. * Develop & implement succession-planning initiatives, including career progression paths * Partner with leadership to identify & develop top talent utilizing the talent management process. Develop & implement retention activities & succession strategies to retain high potential high performers. * Identify capability gaps in current workforce & set strategy to help address business needs * Identify & implement training initiatives to provide fundamental HR knowledge to supervisors & managers in support of their roles as leaders. * Oversee performance management process in accordance with business philosophy & objectives & ensuring consistency of standards. 3.) Employee Relations * Coach & counsel managers, team & employees on performance-related problems. Resolve issues in order to maintain positive employee relations while at the same time, optimize organizational performance. Track & identify trends in situational discord for possible strategic resolution. * Practice & guide managers & team in consideration of employment law & regulations. Ensures investigations are conducted in a professional manner, compliant with all relevant laws. 4.) Employment * Develop & oversee recruitment strategy to maximize business staffing models that ties back to the overall business strategy. * Support effective new hire experience & onboarding for all new hires & internal promotions 5.) Compensation * Partner with senior leadership to design incentive plans reward desired behaviors & promote a pay for performance culture * Partner with Compensation team to ensure incentive programs are clearly communicated, correctly administered & produce desired results 6.) Also responsible for updating & ensuring all comply with current employment laws. * Bachelors' Degree in Human Resources or related field * 10 years + of broad HR Practitioner experience at the senior level, including supervision and management * Thorough knowledge of human resource-related issues.
