Senior Human Resources Business Partner, Americas Retail

You'll be a trusted member of our team reporting to the Director, HR Business Partner for Timberland Americas. As the lead HR Partner for Sr. Director Timberland Retail, you will play an instrumental role in translating business strategy into people strategy in order to inspire our organization and evolve our Retail store experience through a people-first focus.

Your responsibilities will be:

  • Overseeing organization effectiveness, talent development, performance management, employee engagement and program development in support of business objectives for both VF and Timberland's Brand Purpose for our Retail organization.

  • Identifying people-focused solutions in support of organizational priorities, employee wellbeing, leadership, building capabilities, and employee retention.

  • Act as a Change Agent for people development in support of our Retail evolution across the brand as we elevate our store experience.

  • Driving organization efficiency and alignment of talent; adapting organizational structure based on internal/external benchmarking; facilitating organizational plans as appropriate.

  • Leading talent management practices, including talent identification, succession planning, talent development and leadership coaching

  • Implementing Inclusion and Diversity (I&D) practices in supports of the brand's I&D strategies and objectives for our Retail community.

  • Leading the performance management process end-to-end for the Retail districts, and ensure performance focus across the stores in partnership with Store leadership

  • Implementing Brand Purpose and Employee Value Proposition actions and activities for Retail to elevate the employee experience

  • Collaborating with business leaders and the COE team on the Advanced Compensation planning process, including review and development of new jobs, to ensure competitive pay for new and active associates

  • Team-up with our Employee Relations COE on performance and pandemic response activations.

  • Partner on cross-brand projects in support of Timberland Retail and VF.

How You Will Make a Difference

  • What you will do: This position is critical to defining and activating our Retail HR strategy and initiatives in line with brand objectives. You will be a key member of the Retail Leadership Team and looked to for HR domain expertise, leadership, insight, and delivery.

  • How you will do it: Using a forward thinking, strategic, creative, and outside-in mindset, you will play a strategic role in supporting the evolution of Retail in Timberland.

    As a trusted partner, you will build partnerships with business leaders to understand business needs and develop appropriate people strategies. You will team-up with our Timberland, VF Brand HR teams, and VF Centers of Excellence (COE) functions (Organization Effectiveness & Performance, Employee Relations, People Services, and Compensation) to deliver HR solutions. You will leverage conceptual thinking and problem solving to understand complex issues and create people-focused solutions to mitigate them.

    The ability to adapt your style to persuade, inspire and sell concepts will be an important skillset. You will use leverage internal tools and resources to gain insights and enable our priorities.

Skills for Success

8 Years of Related Professional Experience with knowledge of Retail, preferably in luxury or boutique brands, outdoor, or technology industries

Educational Position Requirements:

A formal education and subsequent undergraduate/graduate degrees are nice to have, but we are most interested in your total experience and professional achievements.

  • What we expect you already know: Knowledge of Retail environment with strong understanding of HR domains including compensation, performance management, and leadership development; Excellent presentation and influencing skills at all levels in the organization.

    Flexibility to be proactive in a fast paced, ever changing environment. Competence in making timely, effective, principles-based decisions. Effective relationship building capabilities.

    Strong Excel and MS Office experience with preferred experience in Workday. High level aptitude at multi-tasking; excellent time management with ability to meet deadlines
