The Senior Human Resources Assistant is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: employment offers, contracts administration, ADP Workforce Now HRIS maintenance and reporting, change of status processing, time off accruals, unemployment hearings, annual salary administration and other duties as assigned.
Working with management make employment offers to candidates, prepare new hire forms and offer letters.
Process background checks for employees.
Responsible for the ADP Work Force Now HR information system maintenance and reporting. Assist with the activation of new features/modules.
Process personnel change of status forms including salary calculations for Payroll Manager.
Prepare and distribute the HR personnel activity form.
Calculate time off accruals for all eligible new employees.
Track time off accruals for salaried staff and maintain file for annual audit.
Assist committees on search process.
Assist with tracking personnel movement and new positions for budgeting purposes.
Complete forms, participate in DOL hearings and complete annual occupational survey.
Maintenance of HR budget expenses.
Administration of the adjunct faculty contract process by semester.
Annually responsible for salary increase administration process - prepare employee letters and interface with Payroll regarding salary data transmissions.
Annually administer the faculty contract process.
Assist in the preparation, typing and mailing of correspondence.
Maintain work manual to ensure all processes are continuously well documented and followed.
May serve as a backup for Benefits & HR Staff Assistant.
Perform other duties as assigned.

High School diploma required; some college preferred.
At least 2+ years of successful work experience in a Human Resources Assistant position.
Ability to assist in the ongoing implementation of policies and procedures.

Some basic knowledge of benefits desired (not required).
Experience with ADP Workforce Now HRIS record maintenance and reporting preferred or other HRIS.
Excellent computer skills using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint required); e-mail, and internet research; aptitude for learning new software.
High level of tact, integrity and ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
Excellent judgment and decision making ability.
Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal and customer service skills.
Excellent organizational skills.
Ability to work both independently and as a team member.
Ability to handle a variety of tasks simultaneously with accuracy.
Meticulous attention to detail is essential in this position.
A professional team player with a positive can-do attitude and demeanor is a must.
Higher education experience desirable (not required).
