SUMMARY

The Senior Human Resource Generalist provides efficient, high quality service to the employees of Chickasaw Nation Industries, Inc. (CNI) by responding to questions, providing accurate information, following up on concerns and issues, maintaining confidentiality, consistency and thorough documentation regarding all areas of Human Resources.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Responsible for the integration of CNI Core Competencies into daily functions, including: commitment to integrity, knowledge / quality of work, supporting financial goals of the company, initiative / motivation, cooperation / relationships, problem analysis / discretion, accomplishing goals through organization, positive oral / written communication skills, leadership abilities, commitment to Affirmative Action, reliability / dependability, flexibility and ownership / accountability of actions taken.

Responsible for coordination, maintenance and consistency of programs and policies including, but not limited to, tracking and ensuring policy compliance, running monthly reports, conducting disciplinary audits and attendance reports.

Participates in developing department goals, objectives, and systems. Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars.

Leads a team of other HR professionals.

Assists and counsels managers on employee relations issues.

Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals.

Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.

Partners with employees and management to communicate various Human Resources policies, procedures, laws, standards and government regulations.

Responds to employee relation issues such as employee concerns, harassment allegations, and civil rights complaints.

Represents the company for any unemployment claims.

Facilitates and/or provides training (including orientation) to the workforce.

Conducts new hire orientation.

Independently works on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments.

Supports the HR Helpdesk via phone and email; answers employee questions regarding benefits, leave, policy and procedures; provides forms (direct deposit forms, W-4, etc.); implements changes per employee request and upon verification (address changes, marital status, etc.).

Participates in HR projects as assigned.

Travels up to 10% of the time.

Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company.

Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description and supervisor's instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output.

Responsible for keeping own immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety of self and coworkers. Will report any unsafe conditions and/or practices to the appropriate supervisor and human resources. Will immediately correct any unsafe conditions to the best of own ability.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

Must have required degree and years' experience as specified below; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

SR. HR Generalist (Bachelor's Degree and ten (10) years' of experience)

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATION

PHR / SPHR or SHRM-CP / SHRM-SCP preferred

JOB SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES

General working knowledge of basic HR functions, such as workforce management, employee relations, HRMS and data technology, training and development, occupational health and safety, benefits, compensation

Operational knowledge of federal, state and local employment laws, such as FMLA, FLSA, ERISA, etc.

Skilled in adapting to a variety of HR issues with ability to demonstrate openness to new ideas and approaches in order to achieve successful outcomes

Skilled in developing cooperative and collaborative working relationships with ability to effectively coordinate activities and manage projects in order to accomplish tasks

Exceptional customer service skills with a commitment to provide quality-focused service and resolutions

Proficient technical, critical thinking and interpersonal skills relevant to Human Resources

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with effective command of the English language

Detail-oriented with ability to effectively handle multiple projects and changing priorities, and to produce large volumes of materials amid high levels of interruption

Ability to maintain confidentiality

Strong computer skills with proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook and auditing

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add and subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Exposed to general office noise with computers printers and light traffic.

Works with Facilities Management staff and management to assess needs and uses appropriate methodologies and tools in the creation, implementation and development of programs, talent acquisition, talent management, career development, performance management, succession planning and leadership development strategies. REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES: 35% of Time * Handle all employee relations issues, consult with Equal Opportunity, Disability Resources, Legal, and Human Relations as needed for the best possible outcomes. * Document and assure all employee action memos are up to date. * Handle workers compensation, unemployment, FMLA and other issues (in coordination with central HR).
