ABOUT THE ROLE AND OUR TEAM:

The Knot Worldwide is looking for a Senior HR Business Partner who will will play a key member of the Talent Management Team. You will be known as the "go-to" on the ground Senior HR resource in the NY office and will therefore provide geo-support to all teams that reside there (even outside of your main client group). This role is responsible for helping design, build, and deliver talent management programs that will promote employee engagement, drive high levels of performance, retain top talent, and create a unique employee experience to positively impact business results. This role will interact with employees at all levels, across all teams, in our NY office. You will partner closely with the HRBP's for other teams and involve them as appropriate on matters related to their client groups.

Our ideal candidates should have solid experience with HR practices and client group management. You will communicate with Executives and with senior managers to express new ideas and suggest solutions, considering budget limitations and our company culture.

As a member of the Talent Management Team, you will play a key role in HR-related initiatives, including but not limited to learning & development, performance management, and HR metrics. This role is responsible for helping design, build, and deliver talent management programs that will promote employee engagement, drive high levels of performance, retain top talent, and create a unique employee experience to positively impact business results.

This role will operate at both a strategic and tactical level. It is about delivering rich, scalable HR programs within your assigned client groups and guiding leadership on the value of a strong business partner and talent management practices. You will be tasked with building strong relationships with employees at all levels in the organization. You will be involved with the entire employee life cycle for your client groups which provides responsibility and opportunity to positively impact the team.

Ultimately, you should be able to act as a consultant on human resources management and organizational changes. This position will partner closely with Talent Brand, Talent Acquisition, and key stakeholders cross-functionally to ensure the development and advancement of an empowered values-driven culture, and proactively plan for and address organizational needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide senior-level HR leadership to the NY office, with high influence and involvement in shaping morale, culture, and office norms. Consult with all management levels and provide daily HR guidance.

  • Serve as a mentor and role model for other Business Partners

  • Act as the primary point of contact and HR advisor to employees in your client group on all HR topics.

  • Develop effective relationships with your leaders to partner and provide coaching and influence.

  • Execute HR objectives while maintaining a deep understanding of the organization's strategic goals and objectives

  • Collaborate with business leaders to provide guidance on organizational structures, job roles and design for optimal business performance, and talent management planning and processes to drive organizational strategy

  • Advise on positive change management activities

  • Act as a liaison and partner to align your stakeholders and your People Team counterparts including Talent Acquisition, Employee Experience, and Office Experience.

  • Think with a Global mindset and work with Executives and HRBP's globally as needed

  • Partner with HR Operations team to ensure compliant execution of all HR operations within your client groups including immigration, Total Rewards, and more

  • Partner with your client group's business leaders and manage all employee relations matters including adherence to policy, grievances, voluntary and involuntary terminations. Work collaboratively with business leaders and legal partners to develop and execute resolution strategies, escalating as appropriate.

  • Strategize, advise, and oversee strong performance management practices with your business leaders, remaining aligned with the Talent Management Team's goals and objectives.

  • Evaluate and advise on the impact of change on employees, HR systems, and operations

  • Determine appropriate reports, dashboards, etc. to support client groups

  • Analyze a broad range of HR data to identify valid insights and proactively convert into recommendations.

  • Build, recommend, and implement new initiatives from beginning to finish with minimal assistance or support.

  • Collaborate well and often with the Talent Management Team, Talent Acquisition Team, Employee Experience Team, and Office Experience Team on operating procedures and best practices

  • Regular travel to multiple offices where your stakeholders are located: Washington, D.C., Norwalk, CT, and Omaha, NE.

SUCCESSFUL HRBP CANDIDATES HAVE:

  • Bachelor's degree required in Human Resources or a related field

  • SPHR/PHR or SHRM-SCP/CP certification

  • 5-7 years of direct HR-related experience

  • 2+ years of experience in a high-growth technology organization, specifically working with Executives

  • Prior experience as an HR Business Partner and HR Generalist with a strong understanding of general HR concepts, practices, and compliance

  • Experience in leading change in a highly-complex organization undergoing significant transformation

  • Prior experience at an organization undergoing M&A activity

  • Experience working with remote colleagues and global HR counterparts

  • Proven expertise in developing partnerships with senior management and influencing key business decisions

  • Demonstrated ability to manage human resources at both strategic and tactical levels

  • Strong business acumen, sound judgement, professional and personal integrity

  • Ability to take initiative while having flexibility, combined with solid analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Posses a self-confident, high energy, positive, results-oriented demeanor with a strong drive to succeed

  • Strong ability to organize and prioritize with excelling written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work well both independently and as a team

  • Comfort in managing through ambiguity and change management

  • Strong presentation & analytics skills

  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders, up to and including executive-level team members

  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced environment, multi-task, prioritize effectively, and adhere to tight deadlines and quick turnarounds

  • Experience designing and implementing scalable operational HR programs

  • Excellent people management skills

  • Analytical and goal oriented mindset

  • Demonstrable experience with HR metrics

  • Thorough knowledge of labor legislation

  • Full understanding of all HR functions and best practices
