Working in partnership with the business our HR group develops strategies to assist the business in achieving their goals. The Senior HR Business Partner provides strategic and tactical HR support to Russell Investments' business units with a specific focus on our North American Go-To-Market (Sales) and our Global Marketing teams. You will support your internal clients with all aspects of the associate lifecycle including and not limited to talent management & development, workforce planning, organizational design, managing employee relations issues, compensation & benefits and leading/ supporting HR projects and initiatives. This role will also play the lead HR role in the New York office, as the on-the-ground HR contact including employee relations matters, partnering closely with the global business unit HR Business Partners.

This New York based role will allow you to build strong, trusted partnerships with our Leaders, Managers and Associates globally. We are seeking a proactive team player with an ability to work in a systematic, change-oriented, fast paced environment, manage various tasks simultaneously and work with changing priorities.

Salary Range: $160,000 - $180,000

Specific compensation will be based on candidate's experience, skills, qualifications, commercial considerations, and other job-related factors permitted by law. At Russell Investments, salary is just one part of our compensation package. Your core responsibilities:

  • Develop deep business relationships that contribute to trustworthy advisement and strategic and tactical HR support. Includes actively coaching and supporting senior leaders, leaders, and Associates on a range of people related issues.

  • Partner with business leaders to identify people related issues, trends, and challenges before they arise.

  • Develop and implement HR strategies and programs on key areas including recruitment, employee relations, team development, engagement, talent management and performance management, based on the identification of issues, challenges, and trends.

  • Provide proactive HR support, meeting regularly with business unit leaders, and managing all aspects of the employee lifecycle.

  • Proactively highlight any potential issues associated with HR Operations / processes or projects stemming from any regulatory, employment regulations or Global HR Projects.

  • Partnering with leadership and managers to cultivate trusted relationships, build teamwork in the business and help ensure associates have the support to do their best work.

  • Monitor and support adherence to all HR policies, practices and procedures. Interpret and communicate policies and propose improvements to policies where appropriate.

  • As a steward of the company's values, advise and contribute to creating a diverse, inclusive, productive environment that embodies non-negotiable integrity.

  • Lead performance management and compensation reviews for assigned business units and contribute to the overall annual processes.

  • Lead the annual talent review and succession planning processes for business units.

  • Lead onboarding and offboarding efforts.

  • Partner with recruiting and the business to help scope roles for appropriate hiring.

  • Partner with compensation regarding job leveling, managing expectations with the business from a budget standpoint.

  • Conduct Exit interviews for departing associates, provide feedback to leaders as appropriate and identify trends and issues.

  • Utilize Workday (Russell Investment's HR Information System) to ensure data integrity, data input and changes, undertake reporting, and educate managers to increase awareness.

  • Play a significant role in leading and assisting with ad-hoc projects, including global projects.

The successful candidate will have extensive demonstrable skills and experiences including the following:

  • 5-7 years Human Resources work experience, preferably in a financial services firm.

  • Experience and knowledge of human resources regulations, state and federal employment law, employee relations and relevant administration practices.

  • Professional and consultative approach in working with all levels of management and employees.

  • Knowledge and experience of change management practices.

  • Experience with organizational design processes.

  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive information as well as possessing skills to handle situations in a professional and diplomatic manner.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage and follow through on multiple priorities and assignments.

  • Ability to be flexible, but also to distinguish when appropriate to maintain boundaries.

  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Strong client orientation.

  • Excellent coaching skills.

  • Excellent influencing skills.

  • Possess the ability to work both independently and within a team environment.

  • Bachelor's Degree in HR Management or related field or equivalent work experience.

  • SHRM designations (SHRM-CP/SCP or PHR or SPHR), preferred.

  • Professional experience with Workday HRIS (desirable).

  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
