As a core member of the HR team in North Americas Service leadership team, accountable for overall HR contribution and value-add to the business, translating business goals into HR priorities while ensuring an effective partnership with Centers of Expertise, Front Office and Global Business Services. Ensure compliance to related laws and state regulations through the application of policies and procedures. Implement people strategy and actions in line with the ELDS Business Line and Electrification Business. Reporting to the NAM LGP Service Leader, you will translate business goals into HR priorities and ensure effective implementation in partnership with the Centers of Expertise and global business services. Preferred location is Mebane, NC ; Virtual, remote based in the Continental U.S. will be considered

Your responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Understanding of business drivers, the current and long-term strategy and identify opportunities for HR to add value to the service business

  • Set and implement HR priorities in line with the business and business line people strategy covering culture, people and organization

  • Develop appropriate human resource plans in support of key business needs in a dynamic, changing environment and develop / implement appropriate change management plans as required

  • Represent HR in the US Service organization, establishing strong relationships with business leaders

  • Capability Planning: Ensure the service business people and capabilities are understood and actions

  • Utilize HR analytics to understand and make informed decisions and execute appropriate actions

  • Develop appropriate human resource plans in support of key business needs in a dynamic, changing environment and develop / implement appropriate change management plans as required

  • Work with service leadership team to build organizational capabilities needed in the mid to long term to execute the business strategy and meet or exceed annual business targets

  • Organization Design: Implement the operating model and optimize organization structure and principles in line with group and global rules and standards, including ABB job structure

  • Develop high performing teams, including organization restructuring, optimal utilization, redeployment and right-sizing of people resources

  • Implement the people strategy locally in line with the business line to include people, culture and organization

  • Performance Management: Build a performance culture in the NAM service organization through the implementation of global business performance standards, KPIs, and targets to enhance business performance

  • Identify performance issues and provide counsel to management to take actions to resolve

  • Drive recognition and reward programs for individuals and teams linked to the business priorities and values in actions

  • Change Management: Ensure change management requirements are translated into actions that support the business strategy and plan

  • Apply in-depth business knowledge to support and coach leaders in the implementation of measures and actions to facilitate change, including communication, reorganization, performance management, motivation and recognition

  • Remuneration: Define competitiveness position and compensation elements based on the business need and in line with US and global strategy and policy

  • Identify issues and risks and works with HR organization to identify necessary actions

  • Monitors and control personnel cost and takes corrective actions when needed

Your background

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial relations or related discipline with minimum 12 years of progressive HR experience or combination of education and experience.

  • HR management experience in large service organization; solid HR expertise, including strategic workforce planning, succession planning, compensation and performance management.

  • Demonstrated knowledge and application of US employment law and compliance.

  • HR experience as a government contractor and experience in the requirements of Affirmative Action Planning.

  • Workday system experience.

  • Ability to manage and influence in a matrix environment.

  • Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Change management/facilitation skills.
