The Senior Health Data Analyst will lead the delivery of business and technical reporting solutions to meet the needs of the Managed Care Analytics and Insights department of Bon Secours Mercy Health. This position will work in coordination with Local, Regional and System Leadership, and leads team members in the analysis of Payor data and maintains department databases with the specific purpose of providing statistical, aggregate and trending data for quality improvement and management of risk issues and disseminating data findings to the System Director of Value Based Programs and assigned market leads.

Essential Functions:

Perform financial analyses on contract activity for hospitals and physicians, including volumes of services, volume and profitability trends, cost and charge structures, volume and profitability by service and by contract, payer migration studies, and other analyses necessary to support the accuracy and profitability of managed care contracting initiatives. Including the quarterly creation of the Value Based Contract summary.

Assist Health Data Analyst II with obtaining and distributing insurance provider reports/data, running reports in various applications and report writing as requested. The analytical results will be shared and reviewed with the System Director Value Based Programs.

Lead the department's interfaces with the various markets, insurance providers and key data collectors, to facilitate data integrity and validity of quality data.

Develop quality, cost, and utilization reports and presentations for VB programs to convey quality performance to the market and corporate leadership teams.

Responsible for managing the data flow of information from both BSMH Pay for Performance and CPC+ payers

Reconcile payer information with internal data sources

Collaborate with the Advanced Analytics, Data Transfer and Finance Teams to create actionable reports or report cards to support practice transformation activities

Along with Leadership, participates in audits and reconciliation activities with CMS and private payers

In collaboration with the financial analyst and business analyst, Integrates BSMH Pay for Performance and CPC+ results into overall system value based contract reporting.

Coordinate with System Director to monitor contracted quality initiatives for updates and changes as defined by regulatory or quality agencies on an ongoing basis.

Maintain knowledge and understanding of the current trends and developments in healthcare reimbursement, including keeping abreast of compliance regulations, standards and directives regarding governmental/third party agencies and/or third-party payers.
