Senior Health and Wellbeing Manager

The Senior Health and Wellbeing Manager will diagnose, develop, and deliver a holistic health and wellbeing plan that addresses segment/site priorities and aligns with the Mars Inc. Associate Health and Wellbeing strategy. This position holds responsibility for leading an integrated team of 11-clinicians and allied health professionals located in North America, and therefore, must be knowledgeable in occupational health, non-occupational health, workplace, mental health concerns and wellbeing.
Additionally, this role advances measurable Associate Health and Wellbeing outcomes and is responsible for improving the deployment of site health fundamentals, reducing population health risks, supporting the increase in company/Associate energy levels, decreasing absenteeism, and reducing costs associated with occupational illnesses and injuries.
What are we looking for?
Bachelor's degree in a healthcare discipline (e.g., registered nurse, allied health, etc.) required
Master's degree preferred
Registered Nurse license preferred
8+ years of proven experience leading an integrated team of clinical and allied health professionals to execute an organizational health and wellbeing strategy
Experience in the design and delivery of population-based health and wellbeing interventions (workplace or public health experience a plus)
Good understanding and experience in managing:
Occupational health (exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, temperature, etc.)
Non-occupation health (site health issues, influence medical benefits design, shiftwork etc.)
Health & wellbeing initiatives
Mental health concerns
Design and implementation of public health or workplace health programs
Experience in the management of occupational health and injury management
Experience applying health and wellbeing best practices, guidelines, innovations, technology, and metrics
Knowledge of relevant national / state workplace health legislation for North America
Diverse experience applying consulting, influencing, and stakeholder management skills
Experience understanding health & wellbeing in the business context is desirable
Project management experience deploying regional projects is desirable
Ability to travel 10 - 25% of the time
What will be your key responsibilities?
Further diagnose the current state of associate health and wellbeing in North America, including the organizational and environmental factors that can influence it
Implement processes and initiatives to support the core pillars:
Occupational Health: identification and management of all occupational health risks. Compliance with all regulatory guidance and Mars occupational health practices
Health Management: management of non-occupational health risks and rising business costs (e.g., absence management, travel health, risk factors impacting chronic disease, etc.)
Wellbeing: supports the team and stakeholders in prioritizing initiatives that support healthy and energized associates and work environments
Supports sites across the region to achieve compliance with Mars standards and local legislative requirements relating to occupational health, medical surveillance, injury management, absence management, population health management, and wellbeing
Evolve the newly created occupational health auditing process to include a regional audit plan and ongoing quality assurance
Implement, manage, and /or provide guidance on 3rd party contracts to support the health and wellbeing strategy (e.g., absence management, training providers, medical surveillance, AAP, travel health, etc.)
Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) and/or in a problem-solving capacity with any health, wellbeing, or medical issue elevated by business partners (e.g., Safety, P&O, segment/site leaders) inclusive, but not limited to, the design of medical benefits, site health concerns (e.g., ergonomics, mental health), etc.
Where appropriate, develop the business case for localized health service resources or programs to support managing and delivering the health and wellbeing strategy
Implementation of the health & wellbeing strategy with excellence and clear service level agreements within the business
Monitor health trends, best practices, regulations, and legislation, and make recommendations accordingly
Train and support a network of health and wellbeing champions to deliver the health and wellbeing strategy in partnership with the wellbeing team
Measure and evaluate the effectiveness of health and wellbeing initiatives
