We are seeking a motivated engineer who can lead practice of storage device engineering in Azure Hardware Infrastructure with scope of specification, qualification and validation of HDDs, SSD and future memory products The development environment is highly collaborative and involves leveraging other teams as well as understanding customers' and partners' requirements. Your work will span the full hardware lifecycle from early engagements with industry suppliers and startups, through the design phase, and continue in post-production issues, triage, debug and resolution.

B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Architecture or related experience
10+ years of HDD, SSD and/or storage systems development
In-depth understanding of non-volatile memory technologies and design trade-offs for specific applications. Technologies include floating gate, phase change, charge trap and various 3D layering techniques.
In-depth understanding of hard disk drive internals including advanced recording techniques like SMR and HMR and challenges of device validation and integration
Strong written and verbal communication skills in creation and presentation of content such as specification, processes and end user requirements

Lead storage device engineering practice for HDD, SSD and future memory technologies
Primary interface with storage device supply base on specification, supplier device validation and qualification induction process
Work cross-functionally with internal Azure services on determining specification and technology needs of storage devices used in these services
Specify and contribute in development of internal test suites and automation for device validation using hardware and software automation
Collaborate with internal system integration test team and ODMs for successful qualification of storage devices
Work with Azure cloud operations at top tier escalation point for storage device issues in production with leadership to triage, debug and drive resolution
