To plan, coordinate and promote graduate student recruitment for the University's graduate programs across all academic colleges. Responsible for recruitment of students to the University's graduate programs as well as planning, coordinating, and promoting programs and activities of the University's Graduate College.
Description of Duties
Plans and coordinates the recruitment and retention activities of the UTRGV Graduate College in conjunction with the Dean of the Graduate College, Deans, Chairs, and Graduate Program Coordinators/Directors.
Develops strategic plans to recruit students to the University's graduate and support programs.
Develops and maintains communication links with universities, community colleges, graduate employers, media, civic organizations, government entities, international and other organizations.
Conducts meetings with prospective graduate students to provide information about graduate programs and coordinate tours of the University.
Coordinates follow-ups with prospective students.
Manages all correspondence from prospective students.
Provides advisement including, but not limited to, admissions requirements, policies, and prerequisite courses for prospective graduate students interested in pursuing a Master's or Doctoral degree.
Maintains documentation of all advising sessions with prospective students.
Prepares, develops and maintains statistical data.
Compiles statistics on graduate enrollment, analyzes trends and prepares forecast.
Conducts research on local, national and international graduate programs, graduate school trends and workforce needs and makes recommendations for improvements for UTRGV.
Coordinates with the Strategic Analysis and Institutional Reporting (SAIR) Office, Admissions, and the Office of the Registrar to provide statistical data in support of the Graduate College and the University.
Provides career counseling and advice for graduate students to promote student success and enable appropriate job searches.
Coordinates with the University's Career Services Office to plan and coordinate graduate career fairs.
Collaborates with Admissions and Students Services in university-wide events/activities and orientation sessions.
Provides guidance in the resolution of complex customer/student questions by demonstrating a high level of proficiency across various software applications such as the Student Information System, and by remaining current on federal, state, and institutional practices and procedures, admissions requirements, and institutional degrees and programs.
May perform other duties as assigned.

Required Education
Bachelor's degree from an accredited University.
Preferred Education
Master's degree from an accredited University.
Licenses/Certifications
N/A
Required Experience
Three (3) years of work experience, including experience in student related programs, recruitment, financial aid, admissions and/or advising.
Preferred Experience
More than three (3) years experience in Higher Education in recruitment, admissions, financial aid, or related area.
Equipment
Standard office equipment including personal computer, fax, and telephone.
Working Conditions
Needs to be able to successfully perform all required duties. Usual office environment. May be required to work weekends and/or evenings; some travel required.

Must possess effective oral and written communication skills to work with a variety of people; Possess ability to work collaboratively with others and is able to manage multiple tasks. Ability to quickly gain familiarity with university policies, procedures and programs.
