Boeing Aerospace Operations has an immediate openings for Senior Level General Crew Chief Repair Aircraft Mechanics. This is an opportunity to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals. Some of the locations identified above will be per diem assignments and will have per diem benefits assigned. International travel may be required for short durations.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

Performs end-of-runway, postflight, preflight, thru-flight, and phase inspections. Performs integrated combat turns and hot pit refuels.

Advises on problems maintaining, servicing, and inspecting aircraft and related aerospace equipment. Uses technical data to diagnose and solve maintenance problems on aircraft systems. Interprets and advises on maintenance procedures and policies to repair aircraft and related equipment.

Troubleshoots and maintains aircraft structures, systems, components, and related equipment. Removes and installs aircraft components.

Conducts functional tests of repaired components and systems. Adjusts, aligns, and rigs aircraft systems. Supervises and performs aircraft jacking, lifting, and towing operations.

Performs aircraft and component operational checks. Interprets inspection findings and determines adequacy of corrective actions.

Inspects and checks components for clearances, tolerances, proper installation, and operation. Inspects and operates powered and nonpowered aerospace ground equipment. Inspects and identifies aircraft corrosion for prevention and repair.

Reviews maintenance forms, aircraft records, automated maintenance data systems, and historical reports to ensure complete documentation. Inventories and maintains aircraft equipment.

Qualifications

This position requires an active (or ability to obtain) US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
4+ years' experience performing and/or supervising aircraft component repairs and modifications -

  • Previous experience performing end-of-runway, postflight, preflight, thru-flight, and phase inspections. Performs integrated combat turns and hot pit refuels.

    Advises on problems maintaining, servicing, and inspecting aircraft and related aerospace equipment. Uses technical data to diagnose and solve maintenance problems on aircraft systems. Interprets and advises on maintenance procedures and policies to repair aircraft and related equipment.

  • Previous experience troubleshooting and maintaining aircraft structures, systems, components, and related equipment

  • Previous experience performing aircraft and component operational checks. Interpreting inspection findings and determining adequacy of corrective actions.

  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, technical orders, process specification, and retrofit requirements to perform modification/repair.

  • Previous experience in the use of tooling assemblies and fixtures for depot level modification and repairs

  • At the sole discretion of leadership, must be willing and able (on potentially short-notice) to deploy/travel to a variety of locations (domestic and international) and for a variety of deployment durations to meet customer needs and the statement of work. Unless compelling reasons exist, failure to deploy/travel will be considered as a resignation

  • Candidate must possess own hand tools, be willing to work any shift and overtime as required.

TYPICAL EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or GED and typically 4 or more years' related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
