Senior Fund Manager

Position Summary

The Department of Earth, Planetary, and Space Sciences is an academic unit within the College of Letters and Science with an exciting and expansive research program. The department is looking for an experienced fund manager to join our buisness office team and fulfill a vital position in the department.

Qualifications

Fund Management Experience in equivalent experience in working with federal research grants (e.g. NASA, NSF, etc) (Preferred) Demonstrated skill in financial analysis, and budget planning, preparation and administration. Advanced knowledge of fund accounting systems, contracts and grants administration, purchasing, payroll and other financial services. (Required) Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state contract and grant fiscal policies and procedures, including proposal preparation requirements and export control guidelines. Familiarity with various grant/award applications such as NSPIRES, research.gov, and Cayuse (Required) Advanced problem-solving skills to gather information and analyze data, properly assess situations and formulate logical and objective conclusions, offer constructive recommendations and determine their implications, and identify viable alternatives. (Required) Excellent time management and multitasking skills to set priorities and accurately reflect varying levels of importance for multiple work assignments with overlapping deadlines. Skill in performing effectively despite frequent interruptions or distract (Preferred) Ability to perform very detailed work efficiently and with a high degree of accuracy. Skill in carefully monitoring numerous accounts, and quickly compiling information for financial reports (Required) Demonstrated skill using Microsoft Office programs such as Excel, Outlook, Adobe and Word; proficiency in using the Internet to perform Web research. (Required) Knowledge of University systems such as Online Financial System Reports (OFSR), Effort Reporting System (ERS), PAMS, QDB, Transfer of Funds, NPEAR, Interdepartmental Recharge, BruinBuy, Express, UCPath, CDW, TRS and CBIG. Familiarity with UCLA Technolo (Required) Ability to communicate effectively and speak or write clearly, using appropriate vocabulary and grammar. Ability to convey policy, procedures and instructions to a diversified audience. (Required) Ability to maintain regular on-time hours and schedule (Required)

Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal Affiliations

Bachelor's Degree in related area or equivalent experience/training (Required)
