Team (Project) Introduction 

Identity Access Management (IAM) is divided into two business lines: Identify Services and Access Services. The primary services supported are the Master Person Index, Provisioning, Authorization Management Service, Single Sign-On Internal/ External, Veteran Health Identification Card, and Compliance Auditing Reporting.  

9th Way Insignia has an opening for a Functional Area Analyst, Sr. to work in support of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Office of Information and Technology (OIT) on the Identity and Access Management (IAM). This high-profile position serves as Insignia’s primary point of contact and leads the day-to-day contract operations, ensuring that the IAM technical scope is delivered within budget, schedule, and quality requirements.

The Functional Area Analyst, Sr. position aligns as an Engineer 2 at 9th Way Insignia.  As an Engineer, 1 your duties may include testing project components, identifying problems and discovering solutions, working on ongoing projects based on specifications or drawings, and collaborating with teams of other engineers. Typically performs multiple engineering-related tasks in various assignments within the project and firm. An Engineer, 1 has strong technical skills and background, a knack for learning new technologies, and a blend of good problem-solving and innovation needed to resolve a wide variety of technical production challenges. 

Functional Job (LCAT) Information

The Senior Functional Area Analyst must have significant experience with the analysis of business, functional, technical, activities, and events. Analyst is responsible for working with users and customers to document and strategize for process improvements for current business processes (business process reengineering). Responsible for providing market research on conditions that impact the overall operational efficiency of an organization and identifying symptoms for process improvement.  Must have deep knowledge of process and risks. 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage application users and groups, ensuring efficient integration with Active Directory for user authentication and access control.  

  • Collaborate with staff to prioritize requests for the development of ad hoc reports. Integrate these reports into the overall design of the data warehouse.   

  • Conduct data analysis, modeling, integration, and warehousing functions monthly to ensure data accuracy and availability within the data warehouse.   

  • Install, configure, and integrate solutions to improve the functionality of the data warehouse. Ensure smooth integration with existing systems.  

  • Provide troubleshooting and support during implementation and integration to address any open issues identified during validation and testing.  

  • Prepare custom documentation detailing all changes and special configuration modifications made during integration.  

  • Present recommendations for enhancing the security and functionality of the implemented and integrated solution.  

  • Provide training to staff members to ensure they can effectively utilize the integrated solution.  

  • Collaborate with team members on metadata management and integration process assets to ensure data consistency and accuracy.  

  • Participate in quality assurance testing and validation of system functionality.  

  • Stay abreast of the latest trends and developments in IT and the specific functional area.  

  • Share knowledge and provide guidance to junior analysts and team members. 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, project management, or related field. 

  • 6+ years of experience. 

  • Proven experience in managing application users and groups. 

  • Strong knowledge of Active Directory integration and user authentication.  

  • Proficiency in data analysis, modeling, and integration.  

  • Experience in analyzing legacy system data for integration and improvement.  

  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.  

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.  

  • Capable of addressing critical outages, system degradation, etc., with high understanding the SRE golden signal (latency, traffic, errors, and saturation) while understanding system dependency impact due to those outages.   

  • Ability to attend sporadic unexpected calls after business hours. 

  • Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S  

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the required security clearance. 

Salary Range 

The salary range for this position is $77,096.24 - $83,611.85 

9th Way Insignia’s range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.

Location This position is remote.
