In his Sr Front End Engineering role, you'llwork alongside passionate engineers engaged in the design and development of a product that is changing the world.

As a Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer, youll help lead technical direction for all customer facing application's for our customer, as well as leading the way in transforming large portions of our stack to Serverless.

Responsibilities

  • Help establish the standards for the team in areas of technical excellence.

  • Work collaboratively with Product Management and our UX designers to develop applications that can be easily tested and perform well under a variety of network conditions.

  • Champion adherence to best-practice development methodologies.

  • Design and code appropriate, scalable, and secure algorithms, data structures, and software components.

  • Lead design and code reviews.

  • Facilitate automated testing so all teams can innovate at a rapid pace.

  • Mentor and build skills across the team through effective standards setting, code reviews, and pairing.

  • Tune production applications to maximize efficiency.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience developing complex, full-stack enterprise applications with Java, or JavaScript with Node.js.

  • Strong JavaScript front-end application development of single-page browser applications

  • Strong knowledge of HTML5 (including the DOM, markup, and browser APIs) and CSS3 (especially using Sass or similar preprocessor.)

  • Strong skills with writing unit and integration tests in JavaScript using Mocha, Chai, Sinon.

  • Experience with React and Redux, or AngularJS with a FLUX architecture.

  • Ability to work with JavaScript build/task runners like Webpack, Gulp, Grunt, and NPM run scripts.

  • Performance optimization experience including browser page rendering, network traffic, and back-end system tuning.

  • Experience with REST API architecture and development especially using Swagger or Apigee.

  • Strong knowledge of Git including version control, branching,merging/rebasing, and pull requests.

Job Responsibilities * Design, build and maintain distributed data processing components driving the core of our application stack * Integrate with our tools and cloud based platforms within the big data ecosystem (e.g. Spark, Tez, Azure HDI, Amazon EMR, RedShift, Google DataProc, etc.) * Influence product strategy and help drive product roadmap while developing cloud native analytics features against multiple public cloud platforms * Design and develop new features and services to aid users in data discovery, data preparation and analytics use cases * Create strong internal relationships, train others and evangelize your findings and implications * Use your expert coding skills across a number of languages from Java to SQL to Groovy Required Skills & Experience * Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Information Systems, or related field * Full-stack experience in one or more of the following: Java, MVC, VertX, Camel, JavaScript, SQL, React.js, Redux, scripting languages, Unix and the confidence to easily pick up others * Exposure to architectural patterns of large, high-scale applications (e.g., well-designed APIs, mobile apps, data integrations, and/or large mobile web applications) * Exposure to DevOps tools like Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, ELK stack, etc. * Fluent, open communication style (English) for speaking, writing, collaborating * Demonstrated understanding of user experience, user centered design and responsive web design Desired Skills & Experience * 2+ years relevant experience with advanced coding skills; Python * Experience with MOM (Microsoft Operations Manager), Hadoop, Big Data, or Data Processing * Experience with Cloud Data Technologies: AWS, ECR, AZURE, Redshift, EMR, etc. * SQL on Hadoop * Distributed Search – Elastic Search, Solr, etc. * Experience building applications that are deployed or supported on the cloud and transitioning an application from on premise to the cloud * Experience designing and developing large distributed, mobile, machine learning, responsive web or API software systems * Experience working in a team-based, start-up or agile development environment * Track record of pursuing self-directed side projects, research, or open source projects We are located in South Park near AT&T Park, minutes away from public transportation.
