Position Summary:

The Senior Full Stack Developer is responsible for developing, improving, and maintaining critical software applications for our rapidly growing solar energy business, Terrasmart. Specifically, our PeakYield application which monitors and manages behavior of solar projects and SIFT our solar project optimization software. As a key member of the Terrasmart Software Solutions team, this individual will perform and support the following: Developing, enhancing, and preserving the integrity of essential software applications designed to optimize existing and proposed solar and renewable energy product lines; effectively collaborating with a concentrated team of technology professionals; and maintaining a focus on superior Customer and Product Experience.

Primary Responsibilities (Essential Duties)

• Develop and maintain user interfaces using React, Redux, and other modern web technologies. Optimize front-end code for performance and scalability. Utilize Leaflet and JSON schemas for mapping and data representation.

• Connects with product managers, designers, and engineers to quickly develop and implement innovative product features that sustain a customer-centric user experience.

• Build and maintain server-side components using AWS services such as Lambda, ECR, API Gateway, RDS, and S3. Utilize Python, Cython, SQL, and other programming languages to develop backend logic. Experience with C, C++, Rust, and cloud architectures a plus.

• Partners closely with fellow developers, product managers, and internal stakeholders. Ability to lead SCRUM meetings and participate in the Agile development process.

• Acts as an informal leader and coach for small, cross-functional teams. Demonstrates an innate ability to operate in an agile and highly iterative environment where creativity is a key skill.

• Conduct code reviews of colleagues and provides constructive feedback and insight, while insuring product stability, best practices, and security.

• Assists in task generation, sprint prioritization, and backlog grooming, maintaining a keen focus on developing solution elements that support organizational goals and product quality.

• Performs comprehensive testing, deployment, and system security and integrity procedures. Escalates and participates in developing sound, rapid solutions to issues.

• Creates and propagates clear, thorough software documentation and supporting reference materials.

• Proactively consults with key stakeholders to determine the appropriate application and system structures to meet design standards and requirements.

• Conceives and promotes inventive application features. Encourages and aligns teammates to adhere to a mindset of continual improvement and excellence.

• In addition to the accountabilities listed above, individuals may perform other duties as assigned, including work in other functional areas to cover absences or relief, to equalize peak work periods or otherwise to balance the workload.

Education / Experience: (an equivalent combination of education and/or experience)

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related
• 5+ Years of Experience in Software Development
• 3+ Years of Experience as a Full Stack Developer or similar position

Technical Skills

• Frontend: React, Redux, JavaScript

• Backend: Python, AWS Services, Cloud Architecture

Licenses / Certifications

AWS certifications preferred.

Physical Requirements (Approximate time spent to be included in physical demands such a walking, or bending, specific lifting requirements (lbs.) and/or other requirements such as vision or hearing.

Must be able to see and hear; must be able to type and sit for extended periods of time.
