VIEW JOBS 1/15/2021 12:00:00 AM 2021-04-15T00:00 Job Description: Role Summary/Purpose: As part of the Retail Card Pricing and FP&A team - you will participate in managing deal processes for Retail Card Finance. This involves renewals, pricing changes (including promotional offers), contract negotiations, portfolio acquisitions and start-ups. Essential Responsibilities: * Support Pricing leader and team in managing deal processes for Retail Card Finance for renewals, pricing changes (including promotional offers), contract negotiations, portfolio acquisitions and start-ups. For select opportunities, lead the pricing process. * Support Pricing leader and team in analyzing and proposing deal economic structures for renewal and business development opportunities. For select opportunities lead the derivation of deal economic structures. Develop appropriate economic sensitivities for 2nd line, Pre-Investment Committee, and regulatory requirements. * As part of contract negotiation team, participate in the discussion on pricing matters by working closely with Legal, Underwriting and the Client. * Participate in Third Party discussions including on-site proposal meetings with customers and their representatives. * Provide due diligence support and leadership as needed for portfolio purchases and valuations. * Support and execute on key projects to improve the transparency and sustainability of pricing process (e.g. model enhancements, client compensation analysis, promotional pricing). * For deals assigned, work with cross-functional deal team (Risk, Marketing, Sales/Business Development) in developing assumptions and ensure all assumptions are aligned. * Participate in pricing discussions in Pre-Investment Committee Meetings. * Lead in managing the model governance framework including model monitoring submissions and annual model governance reviews. * Assist in managing all 2nd line and internal audit reviews of the Retail Card pricing process. * Lead in managing all monthly reporting requirements to SYF HQ FP&A team. * Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned Qualifications/Requirements: * Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance and a minimum 5 years progressive financial experience. * In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 9 years of progressive financial experience * Minimum of 3 years of financial modeling experience. Desired Characteristics: * Strong analytical skills including the ability to identify key trends, quantify analysis and recommend changes to meet objectives. * Must have an excellent presence and be able to communicate well and present ideas in a clear and concise manner. * Proven process skills including a demonstrated ability to drive change. * Resourceful, creative; independent, ability to work in a fast-pasted dynamic environment. * Ability to work well in a team environment and to effectively interact with senior management and the Sales/Business Development organization. * Knowledge of Consumer finance preferred. Eligibility Requirements: * You must be 18 years or older * You must have a high school diploma or equivalent * You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process * You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act. * New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months' time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 24 months' time in position before they can post. All internal employees must have at least a "consistently meets expectations" performance rating and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don't meet the time in position or performance requirement).
