Senior Frontend Engineer

Job Summary 

We are looking for a skilled Senior Frontend Engineer with extensive experience in React and Typescript to lead the modernization of our frontend architecture. This individual will play a pivotal role in shaping our frontend development practices, standardizing UI components, and ensuring the scalability and maintainability of our frontend codebase. The ideal candidate is passionate about building intuitive user interfaces, optimizing performance, and staying abreast of the latest frontend technologies and best practices. 

Duties and Responsibilities 

• Lead the design and development of frontend architecture, ensuring a smooth transition and minimal disruption to existing functionality. 

• Architect, develop, and maintain high-quality frontend code using React, TypeScript,  Redux, and other relevant libraries and frameworks. 

• Collaborate closely with backend engineers, designers, and product managers to translate business requirements and design mockups into elegant, responsive user interfaces. 

• Establish and enforce frontend development best practices, coding standards, and conventions across the engineering team. 

• Standardize UI components and design patterns to promote consistency and reusability throughout our application. 

• Optimize frontend performance and user experience by identifying and addressing performance bottlenecks, implementing responsive design principles, and leveraging browser APIs. 

• Stay up-to-date with the latest frontend technologies, tools, and trends, and actively contribute to ongoing learning and knowledge sharing within the team

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 

• 5+ years of professional experience in frontend development, with a strong focus on React and related technologies. 

• Proven track record of successfully leading frontend migration projects and delivering high-quality, scalable React applications. 

• Deep understanding of JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and related web technologies, with a keen eye for frontend design and user experience. 

• Experience with state management libraries such as Redux or MobX. 

• Familiarity with frontend build tools and package managers (e.g., Webpack, Babel, npm). 

• Experience with testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, Enzyme) or server-side rendering. 

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with a passion for writing clean, maintainable code. 

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment. 

• Bonus: Experience with Storybook to build reusable components. 
• Location: This position will require occasional travel within the Detroit Metro area
