Senior Front-end Engineer (eCommerce) - East Coast Location Preferred

We need a Senior Front End Engineer - eCommerce who brings technical gravitas, thought leadership and a passion for technology! Be part of developing and implementing initiatives that improve innovation in a constantly evolving eCommerce and web content space.

We currently run a large eCommerce platform serving the full-stack, but we want to start to move towards the next-generation of eCommerce architectures - headless, API-first, cloud-native and micro-service based. About the job

The right person will be a high performing Engineer with experience building complex React-based applications and a UI ninja. They will contribute to Pearson's technical transformation by developing global capability onto the PMC core technical platform. We are looking for someone with passion for technology and a drive to help us move towards our architectural vision.

As a Senior Front-End Engineer you will:

  • Cross-collaborate with backend engineers, product managers, designers and QA in an autonomous, supportive team environment

  • Implement, document and unit test React single page applications, ensuring code is of high quality and adheres to non-functional requirements

  • Design and evolve UI component libraries that help us iterate on product quickly

  • Help define and drive strategy for ReactJS & UI development within the department

  • Coach and mentor junior members of the team towards best practices in UI code patterns

  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve UI/UX issues

  • Planning and effort estimation

  • Willing to learn and work with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) & SAP Commerce

About you

  • B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent, with strong fundamentals and problem-solving skills

  • 5+ years with deep JavaScript knowledge, writing maintainable, reusable code

  • 5+ years HTML/CSS/LESS experience, including concepts like cross-browser support, responsive design, accessibility, and using the latest web standards and methodologies

  • Strong experience developing React.js single-page applications

  • Experience working with RESTful APIs

  • Experience of Node.js, including experience of SSR for SEO and performance purposes (desirable)

  • Willingness to work closely with UX and designers communicating the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs

  • Experience with Invision and Figma

  • Ability to debug and resolve cross-browser/platform issues

  • Good knowledge and understanding of design principles and patterns

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Experience with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) or SAP Commerce is a plus

Colorado Equal Pay Transparency Act, Pearson provides a reasonable range of minimum compensation for roles that may be hired in Colorado. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. For the state of Colorado only , the range of starting pay for this role is $110K - $161K and information on benefits offered is here.

Deliver collected solid waste to disposal site. Essential Functions: * Operate roll-off truck and ancillary equipment to collect solid waste on a specified collection route. * Complete pre-trip and post-trip safety lane inspections and reports, daily truck report, route sheets and other documentation requested by supervisor daily. * Communicate vehicle mechanical problems to mechanic and supervisor immediately. * Maintain route quality standards as predetermined by management. * Operate truck and equipment using prescribed techniques to eliminate driver-induced mechanical failures. * Follow all safety standards, equipment checks and precautions in performance of all duties. Comply with all federal, state, local and company rules on safety and vehicle operation including any required customer specific rules or regulations. * Communicate any potential hazards in serving/picking up container to Supervisor/Lead prior to performing task * Maintain clean vehicle by cleaning cab interior and exterior of vehicle.
